Olching October 3rd?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know the start time of this meeting, it's a bank holiday so i assume it's an afternoon start, i reckon if it starts between 2pm-4pm i can book a day return to salzburg and get there and back ok. I've tried emailing the addresses on 2 websites, but got both returned by server. Any help would be appreciated, especially as the flights are dirt cheap at the moment.

Spanner47, when i was out in Germany for the World Cup i took in the German Open at Olching which was also on a bank holiday - start time was 2pm for that.

There was stuff about future fixtures in the programme, so will check for start times tonight

Despite the 2pm start time they did drag it out though- i think it ran for 3 1/2 hrs for the twenty one races despite no accidents etc.. Good track though, and the crowd was probably around 2,500.

And watch out for the mad German who kept coming round with a hose to cool people down!

Cheers boggle, Was in landschut last season and meeting lasted at least 3 hours, as well as the speedway there was trials bikes, big blokes exhibiting big bikes and various other things the germans seemed to enjoy. As long as i'm out of there by 7-15pm i'll be happy, so if it listed at 2pm or anything before 4pm i'll be going.

@spanner47

meeting will most surely start at 2 pm as it is the traditional start time for speedway in Germany on Sundays and Bank Holidays (as is October 3).

And You can expect the meeting to last 3 hours ! This is also (unfortunately) the usual length of a Sunday afternoon speedway meeting in Germany. :D

And perhaps You may fly into Munich Airport (MUC) You would not even need a car to go to the Olching speedway track as You could take the S-Bahn from the airport to Munich and then change into another line to Olching (which is a suburb of Munich). Should take You no longer than 60 minutes from airport to stadium)

Thanks bavarian, i'll be flying to salzburg as the times and fares are very good for a day trip it's only about 90 min drive from there.
