iris123
WOW! What a final. One of the best races i have seen for a long time.Nicki gates and leads into the first bend, loses control, wheelies somehow regains control without going into the fence, but has lost most of his momentum. He is in last place.Hans leads and Kenneth and Bjarne battle it out for second.Nicki gets going and in about a lap takes KB and Bjarne in one move.Hans is a fair bit in the lead at this time, but Nicki powers on.Where he is getting the speed from,i don't know but he is gradually reeling Hans in and goes past as if Hans is slowing down and there is still a lap to go.As he went past i was thinking he is bound to lose it but no.Nicki powers home and what a reception.Someone was filming the meeting.I just hope the video surfaces. A few pics here Edited August 5, 2006 by iris123

Guest schumifan
With that kind of racing I'm not surprised the crowds are so good. Are they always like that? Edited August 5, 2006 by schumifan
garf
It was announced that 6650 people had went through the turnstiles. Great weather and happy people made this evening a great success for Holsted Speedway. DK4 was on the track, but I don't know how much they filmed. I will guess they took the Final, which really sums everything up. Anyway they did some interviewing in the pits after the final, so . . . . garf
Hya Doug! I did not see you last night. But then again I was stuck in the crowd just besides the "control-tower" with a dog and my son. I did not wear my yellow T-shirt. Maybe we will have a chat on Sunday then ?
shady
Hi Schumifan No the crowd in Denmark are not usually big unless its an event such as this!! In general they are low in numbers and low in enthusiasm...............last nights reception after the final race resembled that of a good evenings speedway in the British PL!! We often laugh about the laid back Danish fans...............it must be wonderful for the riders who come to england as newbies as the support and enthusiasm from englsih supporters cannot be matched anywhere here!!! Having said that.....final was very exciting....Iris's post sums it up completely!! Edited August 5, 2006 by shady
iris123
I was standing by the start,in front of the Nicki P shop, for the first few heats.Did hear a cheer for Kenneth during the presentation from the grass bank by the control tower. That must have been you and a few others. Not 100% sure i can face a third trip to Denmark.Did ask Kenneth on wednesday if you were there and came back later, just before they closed the pits.No luck. How is Kenneth?Should be pleased with the way he raced.

When we arrived in the pit, we were standing around KB's bikes and talking to Ivan, KB and the rest of the family around KB. I guess we left the pit a little early, as my son at 6 were tired. KB was pleased with result as he the did reach one of the goals for this season. cya around then.
