spook
I would imagine Janusz would gain a wild card if he fails to ride as a direct replacement for Pepe if he fails to finish in the top3. I have two differing ideas why Rico did not do the qualifers. First is that they will struggle to justify seeding him next year if he failed in the qualifers and therefore will probably gain a place again as 2nd best brit if Bomber or Howe fails to qualify. Secondly it maybe that Lee now is at the stage of this career where he is no longer improving and will now settle for a longer richer career in league racing away from the pressures of GP. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I cannot see Jaroslaw being discarded in favour of Janusz and I cannot see Poland having 3 riders as opposed to GB's 1 .......maybe i'm wrong but I feel it would be breaking BSI's unspoken rules when it comes to selecting WC's...................(reading what I have typed back it certainly shows why some find GP selection to be farcical................I say only allow the top 4 to be seeded + 2 WC's....That would clear things up!) Of course something else to consider with WC's (and being a Reading supporter I wonder if this is influencing you) is the BSI connection at Reading........there were quite a few forumers crying foul at Matej's inclusion (although he has obviously justified his inclusion so far) ................I wonder if it would work for or against Janusz and rumoured target Rico? Your first point on Rico had occured to me also ..........the second point doesn't make so much sense to me as in GP interviews he hasn't shown any sign of chucking the towel in when it comes to making the top
spook
I'm confused! (nothing strange there then! ) With Ales withdrawing Renat gained a place in the lineup.....ok even though he was from a different qualifier he had the (equal) highest points total from the non qualifiers which had given him a reserve slot David Howe gains his place as a reserve as a result of Renat joining the lineup..........yet David Howe only scored 8 points in his qualifier.......a total which is behind Lukas Dryml (10) NKI (9) Danis Gizatulin (9) Freddie Lindgren (9) and equal to Seb Ulamek (8) Jurica Pavlic (8) and Tomas Topinka (8) Now it seems unfortunate injuries to David Ruud and Janusz Koldziej means that David Howe gains a place in the lineup...............which now begs the question of who the meeting reserves are now........ If David Howe gained his reserve place because of Ales Dryml's withdrawel ...i.e. because he came from the same qualifier....................then that should also mean that Mattia Carpanese (7) should take David Ruud's first meeting reserve place and that Lukas Dryml (10) will become 2nd meeting reserve as he was next in line from Janusz's qualifier if all this is correct am I the only one who thinks it is barking mad that David Howe and Mattia Carpanese should be ranked ahead of guys who scored 2 or 3 points more than them? Gafurov finished 6th in Tarnow so got one spot, Ruud finished 6th at Miskolc so got the next spot. As he is injured his spot then goes to the 7th rider at Miskolc which was Howe. Regardless of points scored you couldn't have 7 from one quailifier and 4 from another.

SCB
yeah cheers .........I understand the concept and the prime reasons for the system ...but surely when riders from the same qualifier get injured the system starts passing over quality riders for those with slightly less Luck of the draw. As is determining who'll be in each meeting. Some riders get easier meeting and some get harder meeting. Mabe BSI shoudl pick who rides in eahc meetig to ensure only the best rider qualify?! Or maybe it should all be left to chance to avoid the calls of cheating and favouritism?

f-s-p
Lets just say that I'm interested enough of this meeting to post on spook's thread... I think Rune Holta is gonna win this one, he's been riding in Vetlanda for a few years now. Kaj Laukkanen just might make it, he's an interesting fellow he is. He was totally out of it in the SWC, but just take a look at this weekend's pairs EC and he'll most likely outscore Kylmäkorpi. This is the one meeting he has to do well in this year, and he just might make it. I saw Ryan Sullivan last tuesday at Kumla, and he was just freaking excellent. SO fast! Had a chat and he's ready and willing to get back in it. Like with Laukkanen, this is the ONE meeting this year that Hans Andersen has to win/make it. Will he cope or will he collapse? I'd like to see PK in it, and have currently no grudge against Max making it... Harris has been pretty impressive internationally this year as well. Riders going through: Holta, Sully and Andersen Edited August 4, 2006 by f-s-p
spanner47
For those that are going <i'm sure they'll be quite a few of us there>. This info was in the getingarna prog last night. Gates open 3pm, meeting starts 6pm, entry 150kr, seat 50kr, prog 50kr. There is a combi ticket available for 225kr <obviously entry, seat, prog> if you book in advance, but that only seemed available via the local tourist board, if this is not the case and anybody knows if we can book in advance, let us know please.
