garf
Iris will probably have a few names to be followed in the future. He is almost an expert in the 80ccm area after being at the YGT this summer. Wait for his remarks with patience.
iris123
Thanks for the kind words garf Well Michael Palm Toft is the new WC.A bit lucky imo.René Bach is a favourite of mine.Seen him a few times for Vojens as well as the YGT.He can gate and pass.If he has recovered from the disappointment of losing the title that he should have won,i can see him at least on the podium.Michael Jepsen Jensen is a name a lot will have heard and for very good reasons. He is a very exciting rider.Wild and unpredictable. He has one aim and that is to get to the front.A little Nicki P.Anders Mellgren won the Nordisk Championship last weekend in Fredericia. The best Swedish rider and could almost have won the YGT.One for the future.Dennis Andersson was also impressive,if inconsistent.Very fast rider.Szymon Wozniak was the best Polish rider.Looks like he would be good when he progresses to 500cc,but won't trouble the Danish and Swedish riders. Not so impressed with ex-WC Simon Nielsen.Even in the Vojens side i would only rate him 4th best, behind Bach,Melchiorsen and Patrick Tarp(who isn't riding).Sjögren and Kasper Lykke Nielsen have impressed, but Steffen Andersen should concentrate more on his riding and less on the wheelies Thats just my opinion though Edited July 28, 2006 by iris123

Can't help you with details from Gorican. Maybe Darija can write something if she has time?
iris123
Why were there no juniors from Slovenia there Tomaz?
tomazpozrl
Well, we don't have any 80 ccm riders in Slovenia. In fact, I don't think there is any 80 ccm bike in Slovenia at all. We have one 125 ccm bike here in Ljubljana and that is used by Ljubljana juniors who are learning how to slide. Another problem is the lack of appropriate facilites - there are only 3 tracks in Slovenia and all of them are the standard 500 ccm tracks which are too big for the smaller bikes. iris123
Wow,and you still manage to produce riders like Zagar and Ferjan Just thought a couple of youngsters might have given it a go.I mean the youngsters from Australia in the YGT had never sat on an 80cc bike before. Are the youngsters coming to speedway from another motorbike sport such as MotorX? tomazpozrl
Most of slovenian riders, I think, have some kind of motorsport background, but usually it's just private motorcycling stuff, nothing professional. As far as Zagar and Ferjan are concerned - to be honest, in my opinion there were not "produced", there are just natural talents, who put a lot of effort in their speedway and suceeded. I don't think anyone in Slovenia can take any credits for both Matejs' results, because we simply don't have people (coaches, team managers, experts etc) who are able to help riders on a GP level
