Crump At The Starts

Recommended Posts

A bit harsh calling him a cheat - because if you do then there are a lot of cheats in speedway. I've seen plenty of riders rolling at the start (Protasiewicz was even excluded for it a few weeks ago at Foxhall), so if he is clever enough to get away with it then good luck to him.

I've seen Lindback do the same though Stevie boy! ;)

The absolute best for this was Billy Hamill - he was the bain of our lives when he rode for other teams............strangely he seems to have forgotten how to do it this season!!!!!!:P

He is known for it. Rolls just enough to get away with it. But in one heat last night he got a massive roller and the ref did nothing. Cheat as far as I am concerned.

Cheat?? If he's rolling just enough to get away with it then thats intelligent in my opinion. Its up to the referee's to stop the rolling starts. If their not competent enough to notice rolling then thats not Crumpies fault. Loads of riders do it and will continue to do it unless its clamped down on. Blame the Ref, not the riders!!!

If he misses the gate he just pisses past everybody 99% of the time anyway.

So what the heck.

i'd have said he blasts them away!!

I'm still a little confused how a rider can be that head and shoulders above everyone ...including another guy who was head and shoulders above him last season...................we are not talking about a small variation in form here between Trick and Jason

I'd say a lot of the difference between this season and last, is that Crump is now on GM motors - last season he looked desperately slow at the highest level, but his skill and determination carried him through to second in the world. Jason Crump and Tomasz Gollob have both gone from Jawa to GM, question is: when's Adams going to follow suit?

You listen to Jason during an interview Spook ,he's singleminded while other riders are talking about reaching the semi finals and then taking it from there ,there is only one thing on his mind and only one place he wants to be and that is top of the pile.

And let's take nothing away from his backup team he has some of the fastest bikes i've ever seen.

I also think Trick has lost a bit of the hunger and in my opinion not riding in the Elite league dosen't help.

Jason Crump's performance in Tony Rickardsson's farewell this afternoon tells you all you need to know about Crump - a totally meaningless fixture, but he recorded 14 points from 5 rides. Doesn't matter what the meeting is, Crump gives it everything.

But shouldn't he have let the Shovlar-proclaimed "greatest rider ever" to win their clash in Ht 4? Quite right, no he shouldn't.

But Hans is about as quick, and isn't he on Jawa?

Crump has the fasest bikes. Period. his advantage is to get them tuned to the nth degree. Doesn't matter if they blow up as they are given to him anyway. Other riders don't have this luxury and have to have their engines tuned to what they can afford.

Whether a rider is on Jawas or GMs doesn't matter either. Lindback smashed the track record at Poole a couple of weeks ago. On a Jawa. Interestingly he has the same engine tuner and also gets free engines.

Interesting comments Steve

but although reasons have been volunteered i'm not sure anyone has come close

Last season Jason was as fast as everyone else if not a bit faster but Trick was on a different planet..................this year the tables have been reversed...................nobody can seriously be suggesting that a lack of hunger is the cause for Trick looking so ordinary as hunger or no hunger it shouldn't affect his engines to the degree of difference there seems to be between this season and last season..........I dont see how someone can come up with such a winning formula and lose it overnight ..........and if Jason is suddenly setting land speed records on GM's - why weren't the other GM riders doing the same this year and last?......and as Steve points out it doesn't quite explain Antonio's form on Jawas recently

the two guys have been and will be legendary but i'm a little foxed by this scenario
