Subedei
So Middlo and Crumpy cost their countrys 2nd place. Both stupid mistakes too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So, Australia's demise had nothing to do with abject showings from Adams, McGowan and Sullivan, but was solely because of a Crump error in the final race? I don't think so. Crump was magnificent, again, for Australia tonight. Edited July 22, 2006 by Subedei
Guest PanthersChamp06
Bit harsh there on Crump, I can see both sides though. He wanted to beat Hans to keep his max but all he had to do was stay in 2nd and the Aussy's would of got 2nd. Sad way to end a stunning WTC for the man. If you finish 2nd you're a loser, just like if you finish 3rd!! Silver and Bronze, wot token gestures!! And true maybe Crumpie was a bit reckless in the last but he wouldn't have been a WC winner so may aswell have gone hell for leather for the max because that was the only thing he had to gain!! Besides it was only because of the genius of the man Australia were even on the pace!!
SCB
Who Cares??I'm guessing Travis will. He'll probaby never have another chance to win an FIM medal. What was Middlo's mistake? Leaving Louis in heat 17. He come last off gate 3, Loram or Richardson would have probably got a point at least. Infact, Richardson had outgated Loram off that very same gate 2 heats earlier. Subedei
1. Travis McGowan 1, 2, 0, 0, Fx = 3 2. Ryan Sullivan 0, 2, 1, 1, 0 = 4 3. Todd Wiltshire 0, 2, 3, 2, 1 = 8 4. Leigh Adams 2, 2, 1, 3, 0 = 8 5. Jason Crump 3, 3, 3, 3, F = 12 Remind me, which rider let Australia down tonight?

Many of them cost them points by under performing but one guy actually had the points but threw them away, he had nothing mroe to gain being 1st than he did by being 2nd. MrwulfAndrew
Ifs, buts, maybe, at the end of the day we are close but we dont have the class of some other sides
Philip Addison
Yes Crump was superb. To go almost the entire World Cup unbeaten against the best riders in the world would have been some feat. I can't remember seeing Leigh Adams look so poor for ages. He was so subdued. Sullivan ? Doesn't seem to do it when the pressure is on. Cracking speedway meeting though. SCB
Ifs, buts, maybe, at the end of the day we are close but we dont have the class of some other sides <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats what makes it annoying. Our riders gave it there all but our manager slipped up, he missed a chance, it may not have worked, the TS may stil have come last but why not even try it? IF (I know, one of them ) we had won that heat, with about 5 heats to go we'd have been leading, it may have lifted our riders and we'd have possibly got the win. We'll never know and Middlo missed the opportunity

As an out and out racer Crumpy had the opportunity to go through both meetings unbeaten, which would have been one hell of a feat. He didn't make it, which was a shame for him. Aces fans will never criticise a ride for trying. The Aussie psyche means that coming second is not really different to coming fourth, which is why Crumpy is a winner. It is also why his team mates will not criticise him. He might have been born here, but his determination is 100% Aussie. Just wish team GB had five of his ilk. Just wish team GB had five of his ilk The problem here is that Jason forgot he was racing for a TEAM (or even NATION) and NOT for himself. He chose his personal glory ahead of the glory of his entire nation. Would you be happy if he was in second but winning the league for the Aces then decided to go for a personal Max and lost the title for the team??? I think he made a wrong choice there.
