lastword
Interesting to see that BSI have announced that all concession tickets (children and OAP) are 'sold out' for the final of the SWC on Saturday. If you pay at the gate it will be £25 for everybody,it seems. (They did a similar thing in advance of the race-off yesterday) Does this mean that they print a limited number of concessionary tickets in advance of the event? If this is the case it goes against common policy when concessionary prices have been advertised in advance of an event. I'd be interested to know if people paying on the gate get issued with an actual printed ticket........if not how can certain prices be 'sold out'? £100 admission for a family of two adults and two kids? Seems like speedway may not be such a family sport after all to BSI.

If you wanted consession tickets then maybe you should have pre-ordered them. I purchased my tickets for £35 (two days) before the deadline of end of June. They are now £25 each. Not sure there has been an event recently where children have got in for free so I actually applaude BSI for not charging kids from the outset. I fully understand your dilema of a family ticket being £100 but, without sounding harsh, maybe pre-planning was called for. But of course its just my own personal opinion. Dekker
Basic exploitation by BSI, the kids tickets were bait now comes the switch to the £25 quid a ticket. BSI are simplymilking this event for every penny, must be making big losses again on the SGP. Typical smug reply from f4eva........

I raise the issue because of a general concern that speedway fans are being ripped off. Everyone has a choice.....if you don't like it,don't pay........but I am more concerned about the morals employed in this case. newbieoldboy
What annoyed me more was the fact Stadia UK decided to cash in by doubling the price of the carpark. Meaning even longer ques as those who know the parking is £1 at Reading, had fish in wallets and hanbags to find another quid
shazzybird
£25 for a child, CRAZY!!!!!! and unfair ............. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cost us £40.00 each child each adult at Cardiff as the seats left were not in the "family" area

Sure, sell advance tickets for slightly less than on the day but this is just taking the p***! A lot of people will have waited to see who qualified before deciding whether to go or not - especially as it's on SKY. So by all means charge £20 and £3 for kids beforehand and £25 and £5 on the day (or similar) but here's £75 they WON'T be getting for certain! andy moore
£25 for a child, CRAZY!!!!!! and unfair ............. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They charged my mate 25.00 to bring in a 3 yr old on saturday,BSI rep said it was policy what a joke when kids go free on thursday between what age are kids then BSI -at least have some rules such as kids being between 5 and 15 just common sense isnt it if he is sat in a pushchair. J_D
If you go to a concert normally there are no kids tickets only adult prices. Saturday will be a sell out and i understand there was a limited amount of Kids tickets that have already been sold. The advanced ticket combined deal of £35 was cracking value maybe more people should have opted for that up front instead of waiting and seeing. I believe the original capacity quoted by H&S was 6000 - 6500 people. When this was reduced a few weeks ago to around 3300. The kids allocation was also reduced in line with it and hence the allocation was sold out.

No I'm saying that no way would I pay £25 for my child to go to the meeting. I believe the original capacity quoted by H&S was 6000 - 6500 people. Missed this, why was it reduced so dramically, the stand? 3300 is not many, hope nobody is turned away!! crazysue
Hmm well that has made my mind up..... I was not going to go at first because funds were limited and I wasn't sure GB would get through to the final (plus the fact of limited drink/food and toilets in the stadium), then when we got to the race off, I thought, I could go to this and started making plans to go to the race off last night. Stuff happened which prevented me but as funds have improved (thanks Standard Life)and because it looked a great atmosphere last night, I had all but decided to go tomorrow, I had even got to the stage of working out what time to leave!! Unfortunately now though, at £25 a ticket, it will cost me £100 (1 adult and 3 kids), so I think I will say up yours BSI, I'll watch on Sky thankyou very much and treat me and the kids to a slap up chinese meal, get some decent wine in and still be quids in. To my view, if an event has been publicised at a certain price for adults, children and OAP's then those prices should remain the same. If they are likely to change just 1 day before the event (because they think that some of us are a bit stupid and will spend silly amounts of money because Team GB are there) then they should state that on the advertisements...but then of course they wouldn't do that would they? Nah, they would be accused (quite rightly) of money grabbing. Edited July 21, 2006 by crazysue

Seems likely that Postlethwaite had a word!} Edited July 21, 2006 by lastword
Chris Brown
Cost us £40.00 each child each adult at Cardiff as the seats left were not in the "family" area <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Same company though Shazzy, BSI !! Having said that £40 to sit in the Millennium Stadium is a bargain compared to £25 to stand on a grass bank at Smallmead. Anyone actually get a free kids ticket who went ??? shalefan
I have to say that the original deal was very good value for money. I honestly thought that BSI had got the pricing right. Glad I got my tickets in advance. What I would say now is that I cannot see why kids have got to pay £25, BSI you have got this bit wrong. The advanced ticket combined deal of £35 was cracking value maybe more people should have opted for that up front instead of waiting and seeing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Seems you cannot be expected to stand or sit on a non level slope!
