Badge
This thread reminds me of the SWC at Swindon last year. There was a girl stood next to me draped in a Denmark flag, but talking beautiful Wiltshireish(?). I asked why she was supporting the danes and not GB. Her reply - because they are better and Hans is sooooo gorgeous <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just because that doesn't happen to be your philosophy, doesn't mean she didn't have freedom of choice, that is her perogative surely. All sports men, singers actors etc etc have groupies and the Danes are obviously no different. As someone has already mentioned there is NO LOVE lost between Hans and Scot, and all this posting on both threads and all the hype from the biased commentary on Sky has fueled this long running saga again. It was racing for your country, trying to qualify for the World Cup final. You will always have split opinions about riders etc., however, just because someone favours say Hans over Scot does NOT mean that they don't support GB. Freedom of choice in our little island. And at the end of the day Scot BEAT Hans.
FlyinRyan
Little British girls who dribble over the Danes are to be pitied if you ask me.Isn't there a place for them to get help? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, Peterborough
Robyn1972
Robyn the move Hans pulled down the home straight was a disgrace, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'red mist' had descended on Scott entering the second lap. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That may or may not be the case - I have already said that I can't comment on that as my view wasn't clear. Once I have had the chance to watch back the Sky footage then I will no doubt be able to make up my own mind on the subject. If it was "red mist" then maybe Scott should visit the same Anger Management therapist that it seems Nicki P has been to? Certainly it seems to have done wonders for him - he's a changed rider! Robyn Not being funny but i think you are playing a dangerous game accusing riders of deliberately aiming for someone i really do jaybea <{POST_SNAPBACK}> As I said elsewhere - if it were an accusation I would agree with you. As and when I have downloaded the pictures I will post one of the sequence into this thread so that people can make up their own mind. Peterborough is not the place for these supporters. You already need a mac and umbrella to keep you dry the cost of the after meeting clean up must be horrendous
Robyn1972
Don't talk to me about having to get cleaned up after meetings.....I was washing and drying my hair at 1am!!! Anyhow - one picture, as promised....apologies for the quality - missed the focus on this one!
MrwulfAndrew
If scott is going into a bend then he will look across to see where the rider is surely.........there was nothing wrong with scotts move, he just shoved hans out fairly. In my opinion hans was totally out of order with his move.
Hansfan
While I agree Scotty's actions after the race might not have been totally correct, you need to look at Andersen' part in all of this together with Han's first ride (I think it was) against Gollob. It was hard racing by both of them, they are both putting it on the line for their countries and theres no free hand-outs in Speedway. At least Scotty is showing more spirit than those over paid prima donnas who failed miserably in the football world cup... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He certainly shows more chin!!! lupus
Actually Robyn you can only expess an opinion if it's in blind support of the GB team AND if you're not a woman apparently. It seems that women are incapable of rational thought as they only go to the speedway to lust after the riders!

superguest
I dont think Scott's move was any harder than Hans move. Both of them were hard, so no of them can complain. As for Brits supporting the Danes, some may support a rider cause they are good looking, but the last time I checked Hans won the Danish GP, so hes hardly crap! Neither are the rest of the Danish team, who all ride in England week in week out, so will gather a lot of support from English people. Support who you wanna support, you can't help who you 'take a liking' to.
shirls
Hans and Nicki are 2 of my favourite riders ,i also think they are both good looking ,and my Grandfather was Danish,(as for the inciident half and half)) BUT i was born here and will definately be shouting for Team Great Britain, if we had'nt got through to the Final THEN i would have shouted for Denmark, but we are through to the Final and Team GB is who it has to be. COME ON TEAM GB. (Grandad would have understood ) Edited July 22, 2006 by shirls
DanTheMan
well hans first , move where he shut the door was hard and a little dirty, most riders squeeze the other rider, but leave just enough room if they dare to go for it. then when he chopped across scott, that was just dangerous. scott move was hard but fair imo

It seems that women are incapable of rational thought as they only go to the speedway to lust after the riders! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This thread sums up why women should have no part in speedway and why their opinions should be taken with a pinch of salt and not respected. We have a silly little girl start this thread slamming a rider, who could have been very seriously injured for not shaking the riders hand and accusing HIM of dirty riding. Scott was hard, but fair in his overtake and left Hans room and didn't stuff him in the fence like Andersen tried to do. If Scott wanted to do Hans, he would have ridden him wider and put him in the fence. Then we have some old women laying into Scott and accusing him of being unfair and to tough on Hans. Unbeleivable and women wonder why they aren't respected on here and in speedway.
