newbieoldboy
It CAN be done but the skill and willingness to do it is a big factor IMHO! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have no doubt that Doug and Eric Could but would SKY or more to the point would Mr Olsen let them? 21st century heathen
So do we need to kidnapp Ole then? ...and just in case the word 'kidnapp' alerts the boys in blue. It's a joke, not a serious suggestion.
LOL
I think its gonna be a case of "as you were" just think, the track will have a 4th day of racing on it because of the practice etc.Dougie has his work cut out,in this heat it's hard to get enough water into it too,25 heats is asking alot-i'm surprised it didn't break-up,the base probably got so baked that it didn't happen As for "Blue Groove" it's best left for riders to see it,when you turn in on it it's like scalectric-it pulls you round and grips pretty hard!! if you pull dirt over it,yuo get wheelspin then when you go through the loose dirt, the tyre grabs and the bike pulls hard and the fence comes up pretty quick!! maybe the race-off or the final should of been held elsewhere? maybe not such a "slickfest" to suit the danes (and wide enough to accomodate Anderson's dangerous behaviour!) Chivs
Tomorrow wont be much different if the weather is the same. Dougie was always going to have his work cut out having 50+ races (including re-runs) in 3 days - and then Practices before both meetings Just plain crazy. As for these people saying it was hot where they were and the track was good etc etc - people just dont realise how much a practice session takes out of the track. Good luck to Dougie and Eric - they will be praying for a thunderstorm - cos at least they wouldn't get the abuse they have so far.

HBKPCNBob
The track was awful, a disgrace for such a high class event. And there is more grip/dirt on the Reading TT than the Reading main track as I found out last sunday when I picked up way too much drive on the TT and hit the fence breaking my collarbone. Surely BSI should do something now to Ole Olsen or else he'll just carry on ruining tracks and meetings as he has done in the past.
21st century heathen
Kidnap p . I don't know what made me do that. Can I have a dig at your grammar, and punctuation?
Don'sfreelancerider
I appeciaye you are a loyal royal but the practices are no excuse if they enough compitant staff to do the job insead of an anorak who coughed at the right time and got the job.Dont make excuses these problems can be over come at some track and some run 2 meetings one after anothe 30 races without that debacle. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sittingbourne have had 40 odd races with no problem to the track. Eight races at reading last night and the black rubber was showing.
Deejay
If the track was so bad, and I agree the blue groove appeared early on, how come there was more overtaking than you see in most league matches. Chris Harris twice in one race, Gollub several times, Andersen, Nicholls, Richardson .........
21st century heathen
If there were more overtakes in that match than most league matches, I'm glad I go to Wolves and Coventry because they must have way way over the average.

Rico
Can I have a dig at your grammar, and punctuation? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Feel free. Are you Norbold in disguise? I am not one for picking up on people's spelling (one would have a field day on here), despite it being one of my stronger points. I do hope you took my 'critiscism' in the manner that it was intended. Rico ps Edited to add question mark to end of second sentence Edited July 22, 2006 by Rico

KrisB
In the middle of a major thunderstorm with monsoon-like quantity of rain in Poole, just 70-miles south of Reading. Hate to say it but if rain like this hits Smallmead, can't see the track recovering!
