We may as well not turn up then and let Poland have the place!

We only just got beat by Australia and with three heats left we still could have beaten the Danes.

Tomorrow may be an uphill task but we can still do it.

Totally agree, of course we have a chance. I know it is slim but it is still there. Sport is not about the future it is about now. The future will take care of itself and Simon will be part of it.

I still can't decide whether to go. It should be brilliant, but if the track is like that again it'll be a crap match. 2½ hours to get there to be covered in dust or soaked in a storm. ARGH!!!

Aussies look faves but on paper there's very little between all of them. The track will decide whether we have a chance. I know I keep on about it, but it's that clear cut. If it's slick we'll be beaten out of sight, if it's got some decent grip we're in with an shot.

Good call to bring in Chris.

Off topic slightly, but anyone from Reading know if there is gonna be a bar extension 2mora night?

A couple of riders came in to bar, on thursday night and the bar had shut, i didn't even hear last orders called!

Also supporters were still going up to bar and wanting drinks!

David Norris should have been given the call in my oppinion ahead of Chris Louis.

David being an ex racer, would have much track experience, and would of been more confident in his racing.

Norris spent half a season as a Reading rider way back in 1995, hardly likely to make much difference i'd say.

Surely we have riders that can adapt to any track? If not we are in big big trouble.

Is Rune Holta available? :P  Someone find him a british passport for goodness sake   And while your at it find one for Tomasz Gollob as well, we`ll have him too..... Oh oh and Greg Hancock, a fine british rider if i ever saw one :D

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but don't both Sam and Ronnie have dual nationality? We could have them. :D

That wasn't Billy and Billy by any chance was it? :P

And he admits that he's hardly the most consistant out the gate either. I fear it's gaters we'll need.

Blimy why not go the whole hog then bv91 and put young Mr Bridger in along with Ed Kennett. Would not like to be in the trenches with you bv91. Giving up before getting started what sort of attitude is that! The point is that Louis can gate better and is very much on form at the moment. It's a team effort and whilst Steady has been left out of this round he is still very much part of the GB set up. I think the phrase is 'Horses for courses' . Steady is doing just fine and hopefully will take this the right way. Hopefully he will still progress and his day will come. If team GB were to win then Steady should receive a gong to for his part in getting us there.

Dont see the point of putting Louis in myself. We arent really in contention of winning the thing so its an opportunity to give younger riders a chance. This isnt a dig at Chris who has represented us well in the past, but I feel that Simon is the future, and therefore needs every chance to learn what it takes on the big stage.

Hope he comes back from the disappointment even more determined than before, and bangs in a load of points for the aces!

I'd agree Shalefan. Middlo kept faith with Steady for the run-off to I assume, see how he went. He's not taking this event lightly and obviously feels that Loobie might give us more of a chance if it's a gaters track. I don't think Simon should feel too bad - he helped get us where we are. It was widely reported by those who've seen Simon around Smallmead that he wasn't the best performer on that track. The fans demand success - you only have to read posts on here to see that, and Loobie's experience and recent scores on the Reading track indicate he might do better than Steady. Horses for courses sums it up perfectly. We'll see tomorrow night whether it worked or not, I just hope Middlo isn't blasted if we get beaten by a better team on the night.

Spot on. Steady was very good in round one, but poor at a track that didn't suit him. It was quite right that he had his chance to prove himself because of the performance he put in at the weekend. However, we are into the final and if we are to put in a serious challenge then Chris has to come in. That doens't mean that we have to forget the part that Steady played in geting us to the final.

Well who else are we s'posed to blame? Unless it's Hans fault again. :D

Massive pressure on Chris tomorrow, his he a better gater than Simon... yes a better rider ...No going off the current averages but as Reading isn,t Simon,s best track a good call in my opinion. Come on you Brits!
