BOWESIE
Now the GB team manager has to make the decision which will put his team in contention for this year’s speedway world cup. He must now select Danny Bird! I would like to see peoples view on this. In my view Bird is on fire at the moment, his starting is impeccable, his aggression is rife, his machines are working well, his confidence is flying high, he has one hell of a point to prove to the new Reading promotion. Not to include him would indeed be a mistake… Discuss
Paulco
Sod off middlo - i dont want the bloody world cup interfering with our season again . We are at rye house on saturday and we need danny for that . The five riders who rode for team GB tonight did very well and deserve to continue - keep the team as it is please

Silver Bee
I would have used Danny Bird if Richardson or a.n other didn't perform tonight. As it happens, they all did so no need to change anything.
rabbit
Think Middlo will use a horses for courses selection. If there's anyone who's a Smallmead track expert i'd say they were in contention and that includes Birdy. Sorry Tiggers fans but Middlo isn't daft and if he thinks Danny could be a trump card he'll be called up. Wonder if Loobie might get a call for Reading - he has flown around there recently. Is he in the absolute squad..I got lost in all the bickering about his exclusion from Rybnik.
Subedei
I think Middlo will stick with what he's got. No one let him down tonight. However, it's possible one of his riders might decide to fall on their sword, as Screen did a couple of years ago, if they don't cut the mustard at Reading. SuzieQ
I am well and truly on the Chris Louis for Reading Line-Up bandwagon (if there is one) Chris has been awesome at Reading on the 3 occasions that I have seen him there this year! To pass him up would be a grave mistake by Middlo!
frigbo
Louis for Stead. Danny Bird shouldn't be anywhere near a meeting of this stature...unless he's spannering for someone!
Tactical Sub
Smallmead league scores this season, excluding double points for tactical rides:- Loram 13(6) & 10(5) Nicholls 11(5) Harris 9+2(5) Richardson 6(5) & 9(5), also 13+1(5) in KO Cup Stead 6(4) Louis R/R & 11(5)
G the Bee
Sorry, Chris Harris out and Chris Louis in 'Bomber' is not as good a louis around smallmead <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wouldn't be an Ipswich fan would you? Bomber has only been to Smallmead once this season and scored paid 11. Hardly a poor showing. I'm not sure about Louis' guest bookings at Smallmead (I presume he has had some judging by other comments on here), but I know he scored 14 when Ipswich visited. However, three of those points were from a double pointer. Take those away and you've got 11. Don't see much of a difference myself. Theoretically if anyone should make way at Reading it should be Stead as he only scored 6 at Reading when Belle Vue rode there. However, both did their job tonight. They got us to the race off so they should be allowed to get us to the final. We've got to look to do the best we can for the present whilst building for the future at the same time. If Louis was streets ahead of Stead and Bomber I would say bring him in. The fact is, he isn't, so he shouldn't be! I thought that perhaps Louis should have been included today instead of Richardson but tonight's result proved that Middlo's got the balance right. As for Danny Bird. I'm sure what happened with him at Reading was unfortunate this season, and I'm sure he is very quick around Reading. However, I don't believe he has got the necessary experience of riding at the top level. There is a world of difference being quick in the Premier League and racing at World Championship level. If we had bombed out tonight then perhaps Middlo could have justified making some changes and taking some chances. However, on the back of tonight's performance, bringing Danny Bird in is a risk Middlo does not need to take. Subedei
I think Poland have to stick with Protasiewicz for his EL experience. I can't see them bringing Walasek in. I'd expect to see: 1..Gollob 2..Hampel 3..Protasiewicz 4..Ulamek 5..Kolodziej
