Swc Event 1 - Rybnik

Didnt Steady ride as a guest for Zagar when he was missing matchesin the PL last season and scored maximum after maximum

No. Stead rode in some away matches, but not at Smallmead.

cant be that bad around there - Same 5 riders to be used

Horses for courses as has been said by others. It's just a track that Stead doesn't appear to be comfortable with and there are others more likely to be able to score more than him.

Rico

Glad our team won't be thinking like you    ;)

Ha ha ha, very funny :D At this time. Looking at their mannerisms, the way they think and talk and how they ride, i say no they will not win. Just being realistic thats all. Teams like Denmark and Aussie perhaps Poland too, seem to be stronger mentally (more focused, confident in themselves). I would love to see Team GB win, but at this present time i doubt it.

All the best

I agree.  It's either a tac sub as a joker OR a tac sub OR a joke.  We should get 3 of the Poles points removed, they cheated!!!

"JOKE" R is a very apt speedway word. Just scrap it and simply allow teams that are 6 or more points behind to replace a rider with a tactical substitute up to a maximum of 3 times using 3 seperate riders. No more unfair "JOKE R" double points.

Realistically I think we need a grippy track to win the WC. There's no better chance of that than when the WC final is in this country. Will we get one at Reading though? Get the Cov tracks guys down there. Scott and Chris ride the dirt well, Mark and Simon like grippy tracks, and despite popular opinion Lee can use the dirt to overtake. C'mon lets have some home track advantage. If it's slick I think the Danes will be tough to beat, although the Aussies are going to be hard to beat also.

as the 04 SWC showed us anyone can win.......Sweden had a depleted team that year but turned on the style

If it is purely down to who are the strongest on paper then we are most certainly looking at Denmark

but i'll be backing GB all the way as usual ;)

Not a chance. Team GB will hopefully make the final, but they will not win.

Do hope you WONT be attending on Thursday and Saturday PD as we need fans who believe in us and not waves of negativity around the stadium.

Save your money and watch it on TV then you can be as negative as you like :(

i think you'll find Ole Olsen will have far too much say in the preparation so expect a very slick track.

this sort of track will suit the Danes down to the ground and have to be favourites.

I believe in Oxford, however i have never ever had cause to believe in England.

However it is up to them to prove me wrong. By winning, nothing less will do.

I happen to think I am one of Oxford's more passionate supporters, and yet even I struggle to 'believe' in us after the last season and a half. The one time I did show faith in keeping the result at Wolverhampton close by not bringing in Sam Martin (not that it probably made a huge deal of difference) you were one of the most vocal saying we have nothing to lose.

I happen to also be very patriotic, especially when it come to speedway, and Team GB have surely given us reason to believe in them, especially after a spirited performance in Poland and yet, only a win will do for you to believe in them.

After all of Oxford's defeats and many of them seemingly very half-hearted (certainly on the road) you choose to believe in them but not the 5 guys who have worn their heart on their sleeve for OUR country. Seems like double standards to me.

Keep Smiling.

I think you're spot on Steve. That's why I used a question mark, and suggested getting the Cov track guys to do the track. Cov these days has loads of dirt on, and is well watered. Like you say though, I very much doubt we'll get what we want.

You should also be aware that others may have a different oppinion to yours. And not to riddacule them for it. I am not gonna argue anymore.

Sorry, where was the riddicule in my post?

You are more than welcome to post you're opinion, I did not have a problem with that, but like you said, others have a different opinion to yours so surely I am aloud to post my views too

the tracks are never prepared how the GB riders want it ... this is something i find ludicrous.

when its in Poland or Denmark or Sweden, the natives will know exactly how it will be and they will have had input.

when it's in the UK it's still down to a Dane to sort it so you know what you're going to get.

remember last time when Havelock, Loram etc were beaten before they even went out on the track because the British track was set up completely the opposite to what they requested!!!
