PolskiZuzel
What a meeting it was... I'm destroyed anyway. Don't see much chance for Poland on Thursday. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Neither do I. But to be honest, Australia were always the biggest threat. Britain surprised me a lot, especially Lee Richardson (1,2,2,3,2) 10, Simon Stead (3,2,2,1,1) 9 and Chris Harris (3,2,1,1,2) 9 Bring on Kolodziej !!! Rob B
What a difference it made when they finally put some water on the track! The last 10 heats or so were great! It was so dusty at the start didn't look like they had watered it at all beforehand! Bet BSI were worrying when Great Britian were leading, would of been a very small crowd on Thursday if they had gone straight through to the final. Last time Australia went straight through to the final they won both times. Somehow don't think they will use Schlein on Saturday, he was dissappointing, think they will use McGowan instead. Think the Great Britian team will stay unchanged, they all rode well tonight. Who came up with the heat format/gate positions! The team in yellow (Australia tonight) having gate 1 in the last two heats! Edited July 16, 2006 by Rob B

shazzybird
Was praying Todd was ok after his spill, thank God he's alright ! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Looked nasty, really pleased he got up and walked back even if his nuts were a bit sore he recovered well Nice to hear the commentators pronouncing a certain riders name correctly Bomber Harris best race of the night for me was his last race, he rode out of his socks I'd written him off in that one. Well done Middlo and his Men roll on Thursday and hopefully a place in the final for us.......... you did us proud Congratulations to Boycey and the Australian Team. Hackett
Still scratch my head why the track was slicker than Zidanes head !!!! Apart from the Gollob heats and the Harris vs Hampel race the the meeting was nothing more than processional .... it was only the closeness of the meeting that made it interesting. Good effort from Team GB though.
Tactical Sub
(Reluctant) congratulations to the Aussies, same to GB - the best team by a distance. Really good meeting, improved when the track got sorted but spoiled for me by the ludicrous joker rule and Gollob getting 6 rides. Another GB 'world cup if' but how motivated would Hampel have been to pass Harris in heat 23 if Jagus had just got 1 point in heat 22, rather than Gollob's 6 ? And how bothered would Gollob have been in heat 24 knowing that Poland were already on their way to Reading ? Stop BSI meddling with perfectly good speedway meetings, please. rabbit
Absolutely cracking meeting with some brilliant racing. Special mentions to Gollob - the guy is a legend when in full flow. Tonight restored my faith after some fairly boring recent GP and EL meetings. The SWC usually doesn't disappoint and tonight was no exception. Wow!!! I loved Nigel pearson and Kelvin's commentary. Totally partisan but added to the whole thing. Think the criticism from the fans etc writing off our team has cut deep - but it worked and fired them right up. Great to see and pleased for Middlo after some of the recent crap on here. As Scotty said - we can win this!! If Tuesday is half as good I'll be pleased. How can they be the best team if they didn't finish with the most points. OK each member may have scored a similar amount but the Aussies scored one 1 point without using tacticals which meant they were the best team on the night. Also Wiltshire had an engine failure when leading plus that crash, they would have won by even more.
Paulco
Wonderful entertainment and well done great britain who more than exceeded any ones expectations . Good to see the sole glasgow tiger kauko neiminen didnt seem overawed by the occasion and always seemed on the pace . Hard to name a british star of the night cause they all did equally as well , but if you had to push me it has to go to sophies cleavage - once again outstanding Dont worry about thursday if britain reproduce tonights form they will qualify no problem . rabbit
Aah RobB but one of our guys was leading one heat with Crumpy 3rd when that race was stopped. Anyone can count back as much as you want with ifs and maybes but it's what actually happened that matters. Sure the Aussies won tonight but they don't look invincible. you make your own luck and I think the Reading track will be quite a leveller rather than a big pacy Polish track. BritPete
Suberb meeting. Australia would have won with ease had it not been for Todd's E/F while leading, and his fall when challenging. Great show by the Brits though. Can we go all the way? Maybe, just maybe!

Yep forgot to mention that earlier, Neiminen did well, was always on the pace, just come back from injury also hasn't he? Practised at Belle Vue on Monday after the meeting.
