Baldyman
Have read that Louis will not be in the GB team, Surely thats a BIG mistake by Middlo not putting him in, he is bang on form at the moment. I want us to win but cant see it now.
2ndbendbeerhut
Rides for the Invisible, sorry Ipswich Witches doesnt he! Personally surprised that Mark has been named, must be someone still thinks he rides for Arena....... Karl
Baldyman
I would have had Chris in before Mark, Stead and Richardson,
G the Bee
Then presumably you would have had him in for Chris Harris as well. I would have been tempted to take Louis as well, though not at the expense of either Bomber or Stead. On the back of his poor form recently, Richardson should have been the one most in danger of being left behind. However, I think it's good to see some sort of stability in the team and it's not like the omission of Louis has turned us from a team of world beaters to a team of also-rans. I don't think keeping 4 of the 5 from last year is a bad thing. Nicholls, Bomber, Stead and Richardson (assuming he turns his current form around) should be the backbone of the team for the next few years. Perhaps this thread should be moved to the SWC section of the forum. Edited July 8, 2006 by G the Bee
Baldyman
No i would have had Bomber in, he is like Louis and riding very well at the moment and he never ever gives up, he was brilliant last night, and deserves his place. I said i would put loius in before the other riders i mentioned, not that they shouldnt be in the team. My team would be Nicholls, Louis, Harris, Stead and Loram. superguest
Louis is brilliant for Ipswich and could do a job for GB, but Lee Richardsson is properly better in Poland ( bigger tracks) but you might see team changes if he doesnt perform. frigbo
I think leaving Louis out for Poland is fair enough, his form at Peterborough and Swindon is generally pretty pants. Different story at Reading though, i'd have him in at the expense of either Stead or Harris.
GSC_1
All team GB need is Mark Loram and Danny Bird. Those 2 will walk it for them!!!!!!
Trees
Hope you're right m8, Chris scored 16 from a possible 18 at Eastbourne tonight, he's on fire!!
rabbit
Has it been confirmed that Chris actually wanted to take part? Just playing devil's advocate here...
Rico
Different story at Reading though, i'd have him in at the expense of either Stead or Harris. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Absolutely pointless having Stead in at Reading - the bloke just doesn't seem to be able to ride the track. Harris has had decent meetings there in the past though. I'd be looking at a GB team of Richardson, Nicholls, Loram, Harris and Louis at Reading for the race-off, assuming Chris wants to ride. If Stead is in the team, then I'd have to suggest the team manager hasn't done his homework. Rico
Joester
I don't think that Louis wants to ride in the World Cup! He is sitting back so younger riders can come through into the team, and will only come in as a very last minute replacement, hence not riding in the British Final. I believe he said something similar to want I just said.
spanner47
First we have sven taking a kid whose never played to germany, now we have another manager leaving out a brilliant rider, who every fan in the country would pick on current form. Mark would be the first to admit that chris is riding better than he is at the moment, with sicknote very up and down, steady and bomber doing ok, that makes chris the 2nd best brit at the moment. MIDDLO YOU EINT GOT A CLUE! GO NOW!!
Bailays Hat
Louis does want to ride in the WC. I don't understand why he isn't in the team, but then I would pick the team based on recent form. Middlo must use different criteria.
tone deaf
On current form Chris Louis should be first choice for Team GB. So what if he's not so young? Neither is Mark & he's been picked, even though Chris is riding much better. Mind you, we have about as much chance as England did in the football WC anyway so it doesn't really matter. Concrete Cowboy
On recent form alone, Richardson should not have even been considered. I guess it's just another example of favouritism and the old 'if your face fits' syndrome.
