Nicholls was replaced in his final three programmed rides because of his failure to score in Ht 4 as far as I'm aware. That's why the Poles have the No 8 (16) - to replace underperforming riders. It's an awfully long way to travel for one ride.

Nicholls would have been given his next chance if the meeting score wasn't so close (Unia was even 8 points behind Bydgoszcz). There was no room for any other mistakes so Janusz came in and did his job perfectly.

 

Janusz was No. 8 becouse Rempala was banned for his really poor & shameful performance last week at Wroclaw.

Do you realize what are the chances of Gollob NOT taking his 2nd chance and adapting to the Tarnow's track ?

Scotty was given too many chances in Rybnik (0,0,2*,ex.,ef) and I don't think there was anyone willing to take risk once again yesterday.

Take a look at Champion's comments regarding Marcin Rempala - if Gollob doesn't perform he runs the same risks as anyone else. His brother has been regularly replaced this season and as everyone knows the family Gollob is very close.

I understand that the Torun / Leszno meeting has been put back to Saturday 15th July. Not sure why.

 

Mind you with a full programme on the Friday. and the World Cup meeting on the Sunday, may not be a bad weekend for another visit.

I think the Leszno meeting was put back to accomodate Leigh Adams and Mark Loram ? That's what I was told when I was in Torun for the Bydgoszcz meeting in June.

I was at the Czestochowa meeting, and as we all know it went a bit pear shaped for the hosts in the second half of the meeting.

 

What I didn't understand was in heat 11 why Szczepaniak wasn't replaced, when he'd been crap all afternoon. Surely Sullivan or Ulamek in would've made sense ? Or is there a TR rule about replacing reserves ?

 

Methinks that'll be Drabik's last meeting for a wee while though

 

On a different matter, does anyone know why Sajfutdinov didn't get a ride for Bydgoszcz at Tarnow ? (Even the reserves' race - and also given the way Sawina has been struggling) He really impressed me when he rode for Polonia against Torun in the June derby.

Mateusz tonight confirmed that you can't replace U21 riders with a tactical replacement. Hopefully that clears your confusion regarding Szczepaniak.

 

The rule is in place to ensure that the U21 riders get their quota of rides. I am sure one of our Polish colleagues will confirm the full details of the rule.
