Milton Keynes?

They will probably just go out and buy a club and move it miles away from it's heritage and history

You do mean by that bringing an established club from elsewhere to Milton Keynes? Something like Wimbledon FC to MK Dons happened. Not suggesting soemthing similar for speedway? IMO a relocation can only be five miles from an ancestral home...as my main reader will doubtless tell you.

No, i tell you what lets just let a club with no possible feasible future die shall we ?. Tell you what, how about you jump on another bandwagon rather than getting on the tired old 'franchise f.c.' one ?.

I hope that doesn't come to pass, another Wimbledon moving to M K would be past a joke. W***erman keep out.

and who is W***erman ?. Pete Waterman ?, Dennis Waterman ?, oh sorry, you mean the MK Dons fc chairman Pete Winkleman don't you ?, the man who saved a club from oblivion.

I'd like to see speedway return to the Milton Keynes area cause I think the area could sustain a CL track. A Milton keynes speedway set up would have no links whatsoever with the old Wimbledon speedway set up so comparing speedway to the hideous demise of Wimbledon FC is not relevent!

I'd also like to see speedway return to Plough Lane cause I'll feel the stadium could sustain PL racing at the very least and stage some high profile meetings!

Although something successfull is being built up at MK Dons I'll never accept it cause it was franchise football, the rape of a famous old club, although the demise of Wimbledon FC started when they moved from Plough Lane to Selhurst Park. Its been proven that the old Plough Lane site could of been turned into an all seater stadium holding the best part of 20,000 more than enough for the club.

If Mr W**kelman would of formed an MK football team starting in the lower non league pyramid, cutting loose any old ties with the old Wimbledon FC like the Dons nickname then I'd accept them!

The real Wimbledon team is AFC Wimbledon who do have a very feasible future!

The alternative was to put money into Milton Keynes City, a non-league Club, bring them through the pyramid into League status.

Someone decided too long to go before they would make it I suppose.

The F A were at fault anyhow and should take most of, if not all, the blame as they had refused moves elsewhere and then "abdicated their responsibility" by allowing it to happen.

A F C have put it all behind them however and I don't suppose they care too much about M K nowadays

I can remember that a lot of the problem at Elfield was also due to the local residents complaining about the noise once or twice a week, despite the fact that the area had always been designated a noisy sports area. So dog racing is quiet???!!!

And Hiya Concrete how ya going? Still trying to picture you when the Knights were running !!!

What's wrong with moving a club, Terry Russel did it with Crayford when they decided to Turn another stadium into a supermarket, Crayford Kestrels became Hackney Kestrels and what a fantastic few seasons followed with the emergence of Galvin, Louis and Loram to name a few. Hackney Stadium that then became the London Stadium to be finally bulldozed and soon to become the Olympic Stadium which will after the Olympics be bulldozed again and turned into whatever - God we waste money.

Interesting news from my original question.

If we do get up and running again once a win the lotto, we will run elite league within 5 years of opening.

Even conference racing for a year would be painful.

People going to maybe their 1st ever meeting want a quality product. I think conference racing looks unproffessional.
