KevH
Adams just didn't have an answer to Antonios riding and surrendered his position with a little waive of the white flag. As many riders do when they come up against someon ewho is out of control. If you mean Anton it's his excitability that makes him so refreshing. Not so sure about the refreshing bit Rabs - when he puts someone through the fence it can hardly be described as refreshing for his opponent. KevH
So when did he last do that Kev? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not sure it it was the last time mate, but I witnessed a pretty ugly incident at Coventry last year involving said rider
rabbit
Wasn't there so can't comment but I'd agree he was a little wild in the past (not intentionally just trying too hard), but this year it's like watching a totally different rider. He's smooth, determined and looking a class act.

barrow boy
Which is why I said all politics aside. Afraid I don't agree with this nomination business. I think it should be the top 10 or whatever go through and the rest of the places come from qualifying rounds, with maybe a local wildcard. At least that way all riders will be there on merit. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly. This is what I have been saying all along. It does not matter how good or how badly a rider performs if he gets there on merit in the first place. This year 2 of the 3 new free entries were not considered good enough by most people and to date they are in fact occupying the bottom 2 places and only one of the 4 regulars picked is currently in the top 10. Of the current top 8, 7 are the same as in 2005. Yes I agree the top 10 should requalify but would suggest that only 3 should come from the GP Qualifiers. 1 place should be left for the promotor's pick to allow for injury to a regular and the 16th place be reserved for the host country wild card choice. Why were 2 top internationals picked as the track reserves by Denmark, I thought it was practice to invite 2 up and coming youngsters to be blooded. jackofdiamonds
Never much speedway in the Daily Mail, however in the sports shorts it said the meeting was won by wild card Bjarne Pedersen

Only in GB do we put kids in who will do well to score a point. Edited June 26, 2006 by Dekker
Bobbin' Along
Having only just got round to watching the GP (I was in London until late on Saturday) and deliberately kept off the forum so I didn't see the result, I officially have a new hero. Just how good was Hans? I thought he was fantastic round Wolves on Monday last week, but this was a real poke in the eye for the powers that be that decided to seed Richardson, and include Iversen and Protasiewicz, amongst other crappy decisions. He definitely made his point with his riding, and with a smile on his face. Sign me up to his Fan Club! You all know I'm not a Richardson Knocker (I'm a Richardson knocker''s mate, I'm only knocking Richard... sorry) but it was extremely galling to see him get through to the semi final, beating world class riders, when it's hard for him to beat poor second strings in the UK. Nuff said about him, whinge over!
Paragon
I've only just got back from Saturdays meeting & I can safely say the track was about the worst I've ever seen for a GP (Gothenburg exepted). There was ton's of loose stones on the outside which made it unridable. During the interval they came out & rolled it with a road roller which made a big diference, I just dont understand why they didn't do that to start off with. I would like to thank the Danish muppets too for all the free beer that was thrown about, I'm afraid it seems to get worse every year at Parken. I saw 1 Swedish fan have a pint of beer dumped over his head, his crime was to wave his flag after AJ had won a heat. There seemed to be more empty seats this year as well & very few traveling fans, with the way the locals behave I'm not surprised.
richsimpson
Must admit that the time I went to Parken for the Danish GP (Couple of years ago now) we sat on the 1st/2nd bend centrally and on second tier. Was a fairly good sized group of guys. It was a bit rowdy and every time the crowd on that bend was shown, there appeared to be a marshall/security either on their way or in the middle of trying to calm the fans down. Wouldn't have fancied taking the wife to Parken after that! Shame if the crowd has dropped at all but in all fairness I would prefer to go to a 'proper' track or at least a GP in a slightly cheaper country. After all, most only go for the match and have a quick turn around - maybe 1 day and the 1 night, rather than going for the beutifull scenary etc.
iris123
There was a running battle outside Parken last year.Very strange crowd. Not the usual Danish speedway crowd,i must say.I would rather spend my money going to the 2 Danish Final rounds and a couple of Superliga meetings.Last years programme for the Gp cost as much as a Superliga meeting+programme

KevH
Ah yes, the one where the COVENTRY rider was excluded as the cause:rolleyes: As I recall Lindback was excluded - and rightly so - but maybe you are refering to ANOTHER of his hic-cups? Are you saying the ref is always right? Of course he is sf - the ref is 100% correct every time he favours Poole - that is the way it is Heat times??? Anyone?? Need them quick... Oh right - quick!!! - get some manners and the World is your oyster - until then suffer
