Hazzman
Every team gets their own thread when the squads are revealed for SWC. So let's emerge them all and throw them on here. POLAND 1. Tomasz Gollob - captain 2. Jaroslaw Hampel 3. Rune Holta 4. Janusz Kolodziej 5. Piotr Protasiewicz 6. Sebastian Ulamek 7. Grzegorz Walasek 8. Krzysztof Kasprzak 9. Wieslaw Jagus 10. Robert Kosciecha 11. Damian Balinski 12. Adrian Miedzinski GREAT BRITAIN Scott Nicholls Mark Loram Lee Richardson Simon Stead Chris Harris David Norris Gary Havelock Chris Louis Joe Screen David Howe Eddie Kennett Danny Bird DENMARK Nicki Pedersen Bjarne Pedersen Hans Andersen Niels Kristian Iversen Jesper B. SCB
In this weeks Speedway Star Boycey named, Crump, Adams, Wiltshire and Sullivan and said the last team place was up for grabs between Shields, Schlein and McGowan, depending on how Sheilds returned from injury. I'm guessing that makes Shields the favourite. Crump Adams Sullivan Wiltshire Shields Schlein McGowan
Guest PanthersChamp06
Id go for Rory personally just because he is probably the fitter of the 2. Denmark look so strong only the Poles will trouble them.

rabbit
With the squads so far I'd see us as 5th best tbh - the aussies have plugged that last place with Toddy coming back with a vengeance.
DartfordHammer
The Danes look VERY strong with the Pedersen's, Andersen, Iversen and Jensen there. They're all riding well, especially Andersen and Jensen! We don't look like making the Final at this rate, I hope we do, but can't help being a bit pessimistic. If I was Poland coach, my 5 would probably be: Tomasz Gollob © Jaroslaw Hampel Piotr Protasiewicz Rune Holta Janusz Kolodziej Although going on Pepe's GP form, I might swap him for Ulamek. Badge
That is somewhat misleading, as in the EL and the Polish league, Pepe is really flying, so think he would be a good bet. Think this is the year for the Danes.
DartfordHammer
True Badge, but to be fair, against the top riders he isn't doing the business at the moment. And I agree about the Danes, although they might be weakened without Jesper B. Gjedde isn't riding well and Bjerre doesn't seem himself either. Could be very interesting this year. I wouldn't write off the Aussies; normally they have their top 3 and two they have to carry, but Shields has made leaps forward and the return of Todd could see them take this! Squirelnutkins
I would choose: Poland Tomasz Gollob - captain Jaroslaw Hampel Rune Holta Krzysztof Kazprzak Piotr Protasiewicz GB Scott Nicholls David Norris Mark Loram Chris Harris Gary Havelock or Joe Screen Denmark Nicki Pedersen Bjarne Pedersen Hans Andersen Charlie Gjedde Either PUK or Bjerre as Jesper is injured! Are Sweden in it? Sweden Andreas Jonsson Tony Rickardsson Mikael Max Peter Karlsson
Guest PanthersChamp06
Id go for: Poland - Gollob, Hampel, Holta, KK and Kolodziej GB - Loram, Nicholls, Stead, Bomber and Screen Denmark - Nicki, Bjarne, Hans, Niels and Charlie Sweden - TRick, AJ, PK, Lindgren and Lindback

Guest PanthersChamp06
Yeah, trouble is I wouldnt want to put Pepe in, youve got Ulamek but he hasnt been going that good. I think if KK is going to be fit he will do a good job.
SCB
People are mentioning Tony Rickardsson for Sweden, no chance. He has not got a great record in SWC finals (for turning up that is) and it's already been said (about the time of the GB vs Sweden meeting at Swindon that was rained off) that Tony was not likely to ride. Ron Butler
I fear Joe may be past his best at International level, though I hope he gets chance to prove me wrong. David Norris should be OK if the referee lets him dress for the weather. I hear he bought a complete wetsuit yesterday - including wee windscreen wipers! DartfordHammer
Id go for: Poland - Gollob, Hampel, Holta, KK and Kolodziej GB - Loram, Nicholls, Stead, Bomber and Screen Denmark - Nicki, Bjarne, Hans, Niels and Charlie Sweden - TRick, AJ, PK, Lindgren and Lindback <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, on current form and fitness I'd leave out Max from the Swedish 5 as well. Not sure about Screen in the GB team, I'd still pick Rico, especially after his performance in Poland last year. Although Louis has started to ride fantastically well again, so could be a nice dilemma for Middlo!
Van Helsing
To be honest , if the final and race-off is at Reading , I would imagine Danny Bird getting picked as one of the reserves for Team GB Edited June 22, 2006 by Van Helsing
Champion
Coach: I don't want that kind of Pole Rune Holta, the Norwegian with Polish passport, is out of the national team squad for the SWC. He is not welcome in squad becouse of Stanislaw Chomski's - team coach - objections: - I don't want that kind of Pole. He was absent at Golden Helmet final and Polish Individual Championship semifinal, and he just sent some medical leaves in last minute. What kind of guarantee do I have that he is going to ride in SWC ? If there are any benefits then he is a Pole, and when there are no profits then Holta is absent. Tomasz Gollob didn't have to ride in Golden Helmet, but he did. He could have also skipped Ind. Champ. semifinal becouse of injury (he fell at Wroclaw - Tarnow match), but he also rode there. Holta explains: - I couldn't ride in semifinal becouse there is very important match in Sweden in the same time when the final takes place, and my club won't let me to ride in Poland, but I was ready to ride in SWC. My manager has been told by the phone that I won't be in the squad and I feel sad becouse I have already resigned from a match in russian league to ride in SWC. Final squad: Tomasz Gollob - captain, Jaroslaw Hampel, Piotr Protasiewicz, Wiesław Jagus, Sebastian Ulamek and Janusz Kolodziej. Jools
Is this anything to do with Rune being listed as Norwegian again for the GP qualifiers? He should decide if he is one or the other - he cannot be both at the same time. Anyway, there are enough good Poles about not to miss him from the squad. I am glad Jagus is in & it was obvious Kolodziej would be named if fit as Reading is his home track. Not sure about Pepe & Ulamek though.
