Guest Christophers Dad
Thank you to everybody at Scunthorpe for there help after Christophers accident,it was much appreciated. His right leg is in plaster from knee to toe,and has to attend our local hospital for tests when the swelling has gone down later this week. The way other Riders Dads loaded our van so i could follow the ambulance was incredable. Chris had a good start to the day on track, falling in his 1st race while leading then getting a flyer of a start and winning his 2nd. Slidding off while winning his 3rd race but still smilling Made a great start in his 4th leading into the 1st bend but with 2 riders going for the same line a collision was inevitable. To hear my little boy crying as he lay on the track, saying sorry Dad i could have beat him has really put everything into perspective concerning this sport for me. Peter Christopher is by no way being fast tracked i assure you,in fact he is being deliberately slow tracked. Thanks once again to everybody for there help,it would not be appropiate to single anyone person out so i will. Danny Norton you are a STAR,to watch Danny cuddling Chris to calm him down was lovely to see. If anybody hears news on Jack Butler could they please post on here, they had a chat at the hospital. Thank you all very much for your help. Pat Bint Edited July 10, 2006 by Christophers Dad
sCATygirl!
Sorry to hear about Chris's accident, wishing him a speedy recovery. Bet he gets the plaster covered in writing and doodles. Speedy recovery to Jack and Brendan too.
Main Man
Best wishes to all three injured young 'uns --Brendon, Jack and Chris. The 250 tests went well and this is really the way forward for the future. It is early days as yet and there are minor problems with the carby but this is being worked on. Next two confirmed dates for the Under 15 meetings are at Plymouth on Friday July 21st and the Isle of Wight on Thursday August 17th with dates awaited for several other rounds including Redcar and Somerset. Guest PanthersChamp06
Posted on Pooles Messageboard from Dave Johnson Firstly can both Brendan and myself (Dave) thank everyone for their kind words on this forum we do read them. As far as Brendans injury is concerned i have just picked him up from the hospital and they have taken the slab cast off and he is now fully plastered from his knuckles up to his biceps, he has one bone broken in his arm which has pushed against the next bone and has misaligned it. The specialist is hopeful it will straighten on its own but he has got to go to the hospital again next week to make sure it is healing correctly.and if not MAY have to have an op on it. Looking at the video Bob C was taking at the time and the state of his bike and crash helmet i can only say how lucky he is to have walked away, but at this time he is gutted that he will be out for the next six to eight weeks. just one more thing that i would like to say is a very BIG THANK YOU to all of the people who have sponsored Brendan because without you he would not be at the stage he is at now. You know who you are so i wont mention any names but you dont know just how much your support means to us. Also a last word for Poole speedway who have instrumental in the progress you have seen in Brendan this year, Mike and Matt thanks very much and i hope we can see Brendan around wimborne road again before the end of the season. jules m
Hope all the lads get well soon, there seems to be a spate of accidents at the moment. I guess the worst thing for the lads is its so close to the holidays that they wont be able to skive off with their injuries Bet they all drive their parents up the wall during the holidays if they cant be riding their bikes! Hope to see them all soon back on their bikes. Jules
