Parsloes 1928 nearly
Well done Brendan!! IF we ever get to hear where ALL the Rounds are with a bit of advance notice will try and get along to some to cheer you onto victory!!
Main Man
After a few falls and a slow start , a good meeting for the lads --with Amy unfortunately crashing out after looping at the gate in heat 1. The trainee ref though was VERY slow at putting on red lights when riders fell --in fact did so once when the rider was alongside the fallen rider --and was very poor. Full marks to all who took part. If I remember what Peter Oakes said it's Somerset on June 30th , Scunthorpe on July 9th, and the IOW on August 17th --but don't take that as being absolutely correct!! buxton-babe
Amy Carpenter was really unlucky! Full credit to her for going out and giving it a go! When she did a practice start on the backstraight and went in to the 3rd and 4th bend she took it really well, she looks to be someone who will really give it a go and not just follow the other lads round. Good luck Amy, i hope you get another chance to show what you can do this season!
Main Man
Somerset on june 30th is not confirmed! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I did say don't take the dates as gospel!! It was mentioned to the riders by Peter.
Parsloes 1928 nearly
Somerset on june 30th is not confirmed! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Need to be careful with the 30th. as until England have their last game tomorrow this COULD clash with a quarter-final match. Yes - I KNOW I'm talking football but can't see many promoters now being too keen to put on meetings in opposition to England WC games.. BobC
The feeling at the riders meeting was that not enough riders could make the 30th at Somerset, and didnt seem to get full agreement.although it was agreed for the IOW on the Thursday 17th August. Amy was very unlucky, looked very painful.Well done to one and all.Keep plugging away. I agree Main Man,the referee didnt seem to have full control of either meeting. As for the helmet colour fiasco near the end, well you couldnt script it could you! Sorry I didnt get chance to chat to you or Peter, but you both had your hands full trying to keep things moving.I was there supporting Brendan and George, keeping them informed of how things were going etc. Once again, many thanks to Peter Oakes for his hard work in keeping the whole thing going. Main Man
No probs BobC --say hello next time!! Missed all the bit on Somerset as was still trying to round up any of the other lads for Peter and only caught the end of the conversation. Personally hope it's another night other than the 30th as I'd like to see as many of the U-15 rounds as possible and as I'm off to Germany the following day on 1st July for the u-21 , the Friday at the OTA would have been difficult. As for the helmet colour fiasco perhaps had the rules Peter had sent out been read ..... ????!!! But it was all sorted quickly by Peter and I and only affected the quarter final!! Guest Christophers Dad
I do believe there will be a extremely young rider at Scunthorpe on the 9th July 12yrs and 18days old Edited June 29, 2006 by Christophers Dad
fentigers lad
Yeah the word is the championship is for the UNDER 15'S not 15 and a half !!!!Good luck Ben Happy 16th next January <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What a plank you are. Ben is 16 in March (get your facts right), and with him having limited Conference rides this season and the apparent lack of riders interested in the Under 15's this season, I cannot see the harm in him riding. It is within the rules and happened last season. The British speedway season began before Ben's 15th Birthday so what is the problem? The meeting also did a lot for Ben's Confidence with him putting in an improved home performance against Scunny then an excellent away meeting at Scunthorpe so what is your problem with him riding?
