Just heard that the under 15's were told they would be going on track at 5.30pm until a short while ago when they were told they are now due to go out at 5.05pm

The old Welsh Tart who is due to go into a retirement home is not happy because she wants to perform a longer set and the interval will now be extended because Tony Christie is rumoured to be singing then

So much for encouraging young British talent for the future by giving them a crap spot when the stadium will be empty, I have just spoken to a couple of the fathers who seem a little dejected.

In an email to BSI the excuse that the under 15's could not be on later was the fact that the pirotechniques (sp) had to be set up before the main meeting start time but could not be set up until they had finished . . . . strange that they were being set up at 10am this morning.

So who really wants the under 15's?

Put me down for a YES with a better time slot and no more bull from BSI

Is there any reason why they don't have the u-15's going out in the interval? I think it would make sense from a fans point of view, at least people would get to see them, rather than missing them completely if they are out in the pubs meeting up with people?

I would bet that the majority of the fans there would rather see the kids ride than Bonnie Tyler singing - or pretty much anyone that BSI could afford. Robbie Williams may get a bit of an interest, but I don't suppose they will ever stretch the budget that far will they!?

They could of had done with a 'final' for the under 15s with the top 4 riders, as just 2 normal heats seemed a bit pointless to us fans with no overall winner.

I didnt think much to Bonnie!

Also has anyone noticed the mistakes in the program, for instance, they forgot the '6' of 2006 at the top of page 17 but not on page 16; Andy smith apparently coming 126th in the 1995 british GP (page 76 above pic of Rickardsson) and not 16th (bit of an insult lol). Ive also seen dodgy puncuation somewhere and the lack of it but I cant put my hand on it at the moment. I myself arn't particually that bothered about it but it makes it seem like its been thrown together quickly and not proof read.

Is this seriously anything to get worked up about? So they were 25 minutes early - it's not like they were cancelled. If the stadium was empty then blame the supporters. I'm sure those that wanted to see the U15s would have been there early anyway.

I would appreciate your views on the racing in the British Grand Prix rather than your asinine comments regarding the printing errors in the programme.

Regrettably, Schumi, some alleged speedway supporters seem to take an inordinate pleasure in emphasing what is wrong, in their opinion. Such sad folk are not happy unless they can find [again in their opinion] fault.

Cardiff was ........? well Cardiff, would we go if it was for the speedway.....not me ! but it's more than that, but bsi need to inject something into the Gp's, they are now getting boring, the same four or five riders at the bottom, out and out leader doesn't help. maybe we need gp qualifiers with the bottom four playing off with the next four every round, that would keep the bottom eight racing till the end, the same 16 riders is boring.....something has to change for me, because I'm not to interested about next year, like most speedway fans not interested in under 15's , pre-game entertainment, fireworks, just want speedway ! just my views you lot might feel different

The results were...

Ht1..59.50..Joe Haines,Adam Wrathall,Brendan Johnson,George Piper(puncture)

Ht2..60.97..Josh Auty,Jack Roberts,Ben Hopwood,Ben Taylor.

I fully appreciate the efforts of Peter Oakes to get these races on.He works tirelessly on the lads behalf.

He made sure that they were all introduced individually, with an old fashioned(but greatly appreciated),style parade. No helmets, and a little more than walking pace. Some even smiled!!

A quiet word with each of the lads before going on track, and raptuorous and enthusiastic applause for their efforts after their race.Encouraging them all the time.

I know it was not ideal, and can assure you Peter wasnt happy at messing the lads about. It was out of his control.

The best way to pay Peter and the lads back is to pop along to a meeting when they ride at your track,or one near to you. They are the future of British Speedway.

Well done to each and every rider for having a go.Im sure they all loved the experience.I did,and certainly wouldnt have missed them.

Finally, again, many thanks to Peter Oakes and his sterling efforts to get the Academy up and running, even if it appears that officialdom doesnt always seem to want to help.
