Mariusz Dubi
Hi, does somebody know results of the semi-final European Pairs Championships played in Rowne (Ukraine) last weekend or does somebody know where I can find them? Regards Mariusz

TwoMinuteWarning
Whoever arranged this meeting for the same day as the SWC qualifier in Latvia? Russia decided to send their best riders to the SWC, Latvia never turned up at Rovno, and neither did the Dutch! Hence, 3 Ukraine teams. The previous weekend, half the riders due to appear at the European U-19 Championship at Togliatti did not arrive, and were replaced by Russians. And the UEM wants to be taken seriously???? Dekker
At least the romanians turned up which surprised me as i thought they had not had any riders for a few years.
TwoMinuteWarning
There's a report of the first two rounds of the Romanian Championship in the current Speedway Star - only 8 riders, though. From what I can gather, the sport is basically amateur there now. Can only imagine how difficult it must be for them. Got to admire their dedication! DutchGrasstrack
@TwoMinuteWarning, The Dutch riders don't come to Rovno because there was no rider who wan't to go to Rovno, here's a list with the Dutch Speedway riders: - Henk Bos - Dirk Fabriek - Jannick de Jong - Henry van der Steen - René van Weele - Erik Eijbergen - Sjoerd Rozenberg - Mark Stiekema - Pascal Swart - Erik Doornbos * Dirk Fabriek, Jannick de Jong, René van Weele, Sjoerd Rozenberg, Pascal Swart, Erik Doornbos had a race in Gorredijk (EC Grasstrack) * Erik Eijbergen was in Pfarrkichen (WC Longtrack) * Henry van der Steen had a real bad crash at Mulmhorn, he is badly injured. So only Henk Bos and Mark Stiekema had to go to Rovno, but I think they won't go to Rovno, because the had no chance to finish on a good place . toonarmy084
the problem is getting to the ukraine and paying for visas which cost around 90 euro per person so thats 1 rider and 2 mechanics 270 euros before you leave home. Ive been to Russia with ice racing and we once travelled through the ukraine and its not very safe like just russia. Put to that diesel, tires, wear and tear on the bikes and van. Hotels because its too dangerous to sleep in the van, food its not so exciting when you think about it this way. You can be sitting at the border for anything up to around 24 hours. Most federations dont help so much either riders have to pay there own licence around 100 euros just for one meeting. So you do all this to be paid around 500 euros its not worth travelling. And has for having an under 19 european quater final in russia i believe it is crazy but its only fair on the russian riders but you will never keep every one happy.
