speedway2006
Was wondering if anyone was planning on going to this meeting, could be a real cracker!! Wouldn't mind a visit, so i was wondering if anyone has either * been to Vetlanda before * or perhaps oany Swedish fans could give me any tips on the best way to get to Vetlanda? I've been told the best way is to fly into Stockholm or Gothenburg and get a train to Vetlanda which apparantly takes about 3 hours. Any help or advice would be much appreciated!! Anders
Excellent choice of trip I would say. All the information you need is available at: http://www.vmselit.nu/grandfinal/ English version available. If you have more questions which you can´t find an answer on the website, feel free to ask. speedway2006
Is anyone else planning to make the rip over to Vetlanda for this one? We have now got everything booked, flying into Gothenburg then hiring a car for the weekend (very cheaply to) then driving down to Vetlanda. Although am still waiting to see what the line ups are for the the three qualifying rounds in early July.
bazaar3
It would be nice to go just to watch Andy Smith walk it with a 15 point maximum but unfortunately I wouldnt make it.
Jools
We will be there - are going to the GP at Målilla the week before & will stay out for the GP Challenge. Should get to see a couple of league meetings aswell. Having seen the draw for the qualifiers, the Tarnow line up is worthy of the final alone. However, if Lee R (who shouldn't even be in it - what a fix ) makes it through Miskolc, he stands a good chance with the final on his home track VMS. If GB are not going to follow the order from the British Final, why go to the effort & farce of excluding Loram - he said he wanted to qualify for GPs again. GB is a joke. Also, VMS rider Rune Holta was awesome around Vetlanda when we were there a couple of seasons ago - just wonder if he is Polish or Norwegian in this event! I wouldn't bet against Hans Andersen or even Jagus, Kolodziej or Aleš Dryml either. Am chuffed that qualification is back - just wonder though, does the absence of Antonio from the 1st round mean he expects the wild card for the final from SVEMO? We saw him win the last Challenge at Vojens to win his GP place originally. Edited June 29, 2006 by Jools

He was obviously under the impression he would be next in line, but as usual he has been shafted by the powers that be.

If none of the four (PK, Max, Lindgren, Ruud) Swedish riders that are nominated for the semifinal qualify for the final, SVEMO have the option of selecting one of those four riders as a "Wild Card". The hosting nation are guaranteed one place in the final but Sweden don´t have one extra rider in the final if one of the four riders qualifies. At least that´s what I´m told.
