philcrumpisgod
Mr. S., Tony is already a whopping 44 points behind Jason. You have been conspicuous by your absence on the last 2 GP threads. You like to dish it out but do you know what humble pie tastes like? Come on, go up in our estimations, come on here like a man and give us your thoughts. AndyM
He posted at the Live Updates site this evening. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And so he did: What's up with TRick? One season too many me thinks. Not quite what Mr S was saying before, but then Tony has been written off before now. Might come back with a vengeance next season, for all we know. In the meantime, I'm going to delight in seeing an Ace leading the pack once more! Edited May 20, 2006 by AndyM

Everybody likes a penitent, get yourself liked. Steve's not into answering questions or justifying what he posts. God knows I've asked him to enough times but never once has he answered. Eventually it'll dawn on you that he likes winding people up. Witness all the replies to his posts. He very rarely gets involved in a genuine discussion, probably 'cos he's often on shaky ground. Just smile and ignore him like many of us do. He probably hates that but maybe we'll never know.
Subedei
Actually, on second thoughts, it was "Steve Shovlar Guest", so it might not have been the great man himself.

Concrete Cowboy
Acyually, i don't think that was the real Shovvy on the updates forum. He normally posts under the registered name "Shovlar", last nights post was from a guest claiming to be "Steve Shovlar". Someone playing games i think. Sandie
Steve is Steve. If he's got something to say he wont hide behind an alias or 'guest' listing. As you say SCB - He makes a post, lights the Poole Blue Touch paper and steps away. Cant imagine he will join in with a discussion that he hasnt started. 100% wind up! The reality is that his favourite riders like Trick, Bjarne and Toninho are having a tough time at GP level this year, and the rider he despises Jason Crump is head and shoulders above anyone at the moment . A true speedway fan would accept this.
ouch
The blokes a plank I’m afraid. He sits nicely in my ignore box and has increased my enjoyment of the forum ever since. When I first signed up I thought he was a genuine fan with strongly held beliefs. I sparred with him many a time (always winning) before realising he was just an annoying wind up merchant with little knowledge of the sport. The sad thing is a pop at him usually involves a pop at Poole, and then you get an all out war with the other fans, (who by and large are a great bunch) who get drawn into his silly games. Grachan
Funny you have him in your ignore box, but read a thread about him. That's not how I tend to ignore people. Go on, admit it. Subedei
I reckon young Shovlar's had more threads dedicated to him on here than many a top class rider. I've a little sympathy with the fellow on this one. I, for one, saw this season's GP series as being little more than a Crump-Rickardsson duel for title. I never conceived that TR wouldn't be in the top 2-3 come Bydgoszcz. Have to say, I think TR is short-changing his loyal supporters in the GPs this season. robpeasley
Subedei, That's a new one - you're critising Rickardsson for lack of effort in the GPs!! Personally, I think he looked rather bemused last night - as if he couldn't work out what was wrong. And machinery can't be blamed for the second successive GP. Rickardsson has been hoist on his petard. Obviously he approached this season with his only focus on the GP, and treated the other meetings as little more than a warm-up, despite the fact his league clubs are paying him good money. However, the consequence of treating these meetings at less than 100%, was that it's impossible to suddenly step up to the plate that much when the GP series comes around. Compare to Crump, who's been going hell for leather in the EL this year. Easy for him, all he has to do in the GP is continue the work he's been doing all year for Belle Vue. All the best Rob P.S. I've also developed a theory that all the bikes that were put into storage during his time at Oxford (i.e. the ones on which he set fast times on in Heat 4, and then "mysteriously" disapeared) were hidden too well!! He's still trying to find the bike on which he acheived 57.99 seconds against Swindon at the start of the season!! :D
