Subedei
It can't do Richardson's confidence much good getting tanked in the GPs every other week. I'd be surprised if Stead scores more than a couple of points at Cardiff. He'll be pulling full lockers on every bend and I don't think he's got the standard of equipment required. stevebrum
The quote of the meet `the disappointing lee richardson` - never a truer word said. Steady in next year surely.
Guest Shale Eater
Scott Nicholls will be there next year whatever. They need a British rider in it. I can't see Lee Richardson being in it though, and to be honest I'll be quite relieved as I think he does too much and it gets on top of him. Simon Stead? Not sure he's ready, but then NKI isn't but it never stopped him being in it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At this rate Bridger will be in next year At least he can overtake

He will replace richardson next year as the second brit as lee has had his chance and is evidently not up to it and nobody else is remotely near able to race in this class . Subedei
Is Nicholls some sort of sacred cow? His performance was fairly abject tonight. And recent history suggests that when it comes to the crunch, Richardson can make finals, Nicholls can't. Last British rider in a final was Richardson, a mere four or five GPs ago. Subedei
I do believe that Nicholls has also made two finals. Edit: Actually, I do him an injustice, he's made three: 2002 - Australia 2003 - Slovenia 2003 - Sweden Britain's last GP winner remains Martin Dugard. Last season TR won twice as many GPs as have been won by British riders. He won six last season, Britain's won three altogether (Dugard 1 and Loram 2). Pinstripe
Its fair enough to see the likes of PUK struggle, its his first year in the series. But Richardson has had chance after chance and has done sod all. Nicholls is good at league level but is awful in the GP's. Yes Niels is struggling, but it is his first year and not like he has been in it for years. Pepe has been round years and never impressed, neither has Richardson. Najjer
Lee Richardson is fast becoming the new Andy Smith of the GP series. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> im a huge Lee fan, get alot of his merchandise and all that. Was gutted tonight. But in reply to your post, do you not think you should edit it to Matej Ferjan of the old format?

The calls to bring back Andersen get louder and louder. There's Bjerre waiting in the wings. Should Bjarne Pedersen be looking over his shoulder? You're right, Richardson and Nicholls have been given more than enough chances, I just wonder whether Iversen will.

lupus
Lee is in there virtue of his nationality and nothing else, which is probably part of what Hans is complaining about. The thing is, though, if Lee wasn't in the GP there would only be one British rider, as he is still more deserving than any other British rider at the moment. As long as there is no qualifying system then this is the kind of decision that will be made. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Richardson finished 13th - and was poor at best last year - but he gets a place by virute of the fact that he's British! Nicholls - see Richardson - except he was slightly better! Lindback gets a spot because - and let's be brutily honest here - the 'race' thing is a great selling point for BSI and the relevant sponsors Hampel - Probably deserves a place but being Polish certainly helped his cause! Pepe - See Hampel - except he probably DOESN'T deserve a spot! Iversen - In because Olsen says so! Zagar - In because he's Slovenian! With there being a Slovenia GP again next year, they need somehing to sell the tickets! Sorry but he may well be a good rider in the future but he's not even had the sphrerical objects to ride in the EL yet!!!! Also the BSI/Reading link is far to obvious to ignore! So there you have it - Hans is better than at least 6 of those riders if not more. Sadly he obviously got the floowing against him 1. Not British 2. Not Black 3. Not Polish 4. Not the only rider from some obscure Eastern European country which has a GP 5. Not best buddies with Ole/Jacob Olsen 6. Not riding for a BSI owned club in the EL. Sorry Hans but you've missed out this time due to good old fashioned nepotism!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Above are the posts made by Grachan and myself back in October last year when the 'selected' riders were announced. The situation stank then and it is completely rancid now! Richardson is a joke and not a very funny one at that!
Badge
TBH apart from the final, that GP was nearly as boring as the Eurovision Song contest. Jason, Greg, Nicki and Tomas are so superior to the other riders, it's almost a foregone conclusion. The sooner they bring in the qualifying rounds and stop the wild card entries the better.(mind you isn't the Championship of GB a qualifyer?, so Scott or Lee can get in again through that route ) Freddie showed he can mix it with the big boys, I think because he is keen, don't know about Pepe he seems so off the pace, Zagaar, Iversen are new to it all and surely will get better, Jarek in fits and starts is on the pace, still feel he would do better if he rode in the EL to be able to keep up with the other 4.
