Joe If the Brits have the sense to make the track grippy that team should give us as good a chance as the rest of the world. It won't be easy but we should make the play-off with a little to spare. Then get them back to our own back yard, and show them all how ride the smaller tracks properly. Poland are good, but they won't be the same threat this year. Sweden are not quite as good as they were a couple of years ago. Max isn't fully fit yet, and with AJ and TRick not riding over here we should have headstart on them with the set up. The Aussies are similar in that they are not the team they were when they won it. The Danes have to be the ones to watch. Nicki, Hans, and JBJ in particular aren't doing too badly are they? You can't really discount anyone but why can't we be the ones that all the other are worried about? That team looks solid on current form, and I haven't even included the WC's top points scorer. If Lee finds some form over the next few weeks he will slot in, and bump a good rider down to reserve. Keep the faith!

21st century heathen
Nicki, Hans and JBJ are going very well. Charlie is having a bad year, and KB is struggling to find his best form after the injury, and Bjarne looks like another Leigh Adams in the making. Good in the league, but not so on the international scene. NKI will have a good ride here or there, but nothing more. From what I've seen there is more effort than speed from him. But if they do click they're my tip to challenge strongly. Edited June 17, 2006 by 21st century heathen
tiger74
Why are people picking different teams for Poland and Reading if ENGLAND qualify, what incentive is there for the riders in Poland to do well if they know they are going to be replaced and why is Neil Middleditch still ENGLAND team manager, look at his club Poole with foreigners in the top 5 hasn,t he any faith in English riders ,oh well at least he can shout for Denmark,Sweden,Poland, and even Australia if ENGLAND dont qualify

The team has been Great Britain since 2001. You should be supporting the decision to call it GB.
tiger74
as a speedway supporter since 1960 we had Great Britain in the late 60s/ early 70s which meant we could use Australasians ie. Ivan Mauger Barry Briggs etc. it was then changed to England when we had an abundance of talent, try telling a non speedway supporter that you support team GB and they will wonder what your on about
rabbit
Do you think that Middlo picks the Poole team? M&M put the team together and Middlo manages it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly Shazz...none so blind as those that won't see. Besides, a good manager is a good manager. The fact he doesn't have any Brits in the side at Poole doesn't mean he can't manage England. Ask the Poole and England lads what they think of Middlo's management skills. But no, far easier to whinge eh? When we did have Brits in the side and Middlo picked them, that was wrong cos it was club favouritism. Poor bloke can't win! SCB
tiger74, They'd be football or rugby fans then. As they're the only sports that seprate GB. Even the one code of rugby has a GB team!! Just about every other sport competes as GB, check it out if you don't believe me. Anyone not knowing what/what GB is, is clearly poorly educated or possibly from America. Edited June 18, 2006 by SCB
shazzybird
Poor bloke can't win! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh he can it's going to be a good year for England in football and TEAM GB in speedway, I can feel it in me water Whatever the team I'll be supporting them, the live updates were excellent last year, got very drunk and very loud (yep much louder than normal) so roll on the SWC that's what I say

king jeff
i think scotty, loramski and stead should be definite starters. other 2 spots up for grabs between louis, bomber (my preferences) and screen (reserve). lee hasn't been too sharp this year and after bomber's performance in the championship of gb he should be given a shot.
