Doubt Kennett had any say in the decision, but tbh Eddie isnt likely to be much better than a good EL 2nd string despite the silver spoon treatment.

Why should we get behind eddie chris? do you get behind other young riders or is this just a club bias?

Move on fella. You have already mentioned him pulling out of the mickey mouse under21 world cup and should not get rewarded due to that fact on many other threads. Methinks he would have got more benefit from a good performance in the EL on Monday rather than face the might of Germany B.

Anyway he won the qualifier so he has as much right to be there as anyone.

Get behind our young riders instead of having a dig.

Two other threads actually, which I don't think qualifies as many. Do you actually think he would have got more benefit from riding at Arlington than travelling to a foreign track to represent his country?

The late withdrawal of the Latvians has unfortunately cast doubt on the validity of the World Under 21 Cup but the young Danes and Germany 1 were no mean opposition.

Don't know who took the decision for Eddie and Lewis to withdraw from the event, but surely international experience on foreign tracks is all important.

Can you not see a lack of consistency with the way Loram has been treated?

Dean Barker has withdrawn from the meeting

Couldn't be arsed you mean, we knew he wasn't going to turn up before last nights Eastbourne meeting, he didn't even tell anyone at Belle Vue that he wasn't turning up.

Has anyone any updates on the injuries sustained to Floppy and Paul Hurry? Thanks people.

I think Floppy will be fine, just banged his leg I think. Hurry was taken by ambulence, off the track, looked a bit more serious.

Was an ok meeting, some decent races, few incidents. Was one of the hottest days of the year and quite breezy wasn't good for the track, there was no dust until heat 10, they were trying to damp it every 2 heats but it was practically just evaporating.

Hopefully Barker will be heavily fined for his failure to turn up.

He was riding for his club last night and didn't get injured. In fact, although he didn't officially withdraw from the meeting, most people had heard the rumour before yesterday's meeting that he wasn't going to turn up.

If Barker isn't heavily fined it makes a mockery of the Mark Loram situation.

Loram didn't sign the form to enter for BSPA events as he didn't want to commit to them all.

But Barker clearly did sign and should be punished for breaching the contract.

If he gets away with it, Loram will think "I could have signed the form and still refused to turn up for meetings with no punishment"

Quiet a decent meeting, crowd wasn't that great, few more than a Belle Vue meeting.

Best four got to the final with Smudger and Lanham also providing some good entertainment. Bomber deserved to win the meeting on the heat performances but chose the wrong gate in yellow and was at the back from the start.

Richardson was dreadful and I would not pick him for the world cup.

Great effort from Ricky Ashworth at the meeting today. Was unlucky not to win his 1st heat after leading Lanham for 3 laps then catching the rut on the 2nd bend of the absolutley awful track. Second heat for Ricky was a combination of not hearing the 2 minutes and a bike problem, which wouldn't start.

Then his big heat of the night with a fine win over Simon Stead (The best Brit in the Elite League averages), with Ricky gating and Steady getting no where near. It went all quiet from the Belle Vue fans and Ricky definitley enjoyed that win.

Bike troubles in the last two rides cost him more points and a creditable finish but plenty of positives for him to take from the meeting. Good to see Ricky is getting more sponsors with Marshall Racing now a big sponsor for Ricky and setting him up with new leathers, team shirts and a pit stand, which made him look like a Grand prix rider.

Well done to Scotty on winning the meeting!!

The track was an absolute joke, with ruts on both bends and dust fling around from about heat 10!!
