Blazeaway
the 300 that will turn up at BV? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ouch! For what its worth i think there have been errors on both sides, but rules is rules. Unless of course you apply for "special dispensation" then the rules aint worth dick. frigbo
Marks Polish team (and Robert Miskowiaks for that matter) had a re-arranged fixture last saturday. Miskowiak chose to ride for his polish club leaving Ipswich to replace him with a premier league reserve, while Mark was "prepared to put his English commitments first" and take his place for Ipswich at Eastbourne <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Exactly as i would expect. If this is the norm what exactly is Mark's problem with signing the form as he will be at the re-arranged fixture anyway??
stevehone
The fact still remains that the fans WANT to see Mark race in the British Championship <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i WANT to see lots of things happen in speedway, but hey, such is life. if the fans WANT to see Mark ride, maybe they'll tell him to sign the forms next time
bananas
Forgive my ignorance but what forms are you on about??? Im not up-to-date with speedway politics!!!!
Pepper
Apparently riders now have to sign a 'Rider Regulations Renewal' Form - which states their willingness to honour all official British Speedway Commitments. This is the form Mark Loram hasn't signed. Hope that helps.
ouch
I don’t think you can blame Mark, as he has at least been consistent in his actions. He hasn’t returned a signed form in previous years, and the result was he took part in the British Final. Somebody at the BSPA has now acted differently without, it seems letting anybody know until it's’ too late. As Mark pointed out in the Star, its not as though the BSPA has to plough through thousands and thousands of forms, that could result in an oversight such as this happening. We fans know full well that this somebody has purposefully acted to stop Mark riding in this meeting, when simple dialog could have seen the matter nipped in the bud and not left speedway (once again) looking foolish. BSPA fool: "Lorams not sent his form back again. I’m going to stop him riding in the British Final." Voice of reason: "Why not ‘phone him and tell to sign the form, or he won’t get a ride." BSPA fool: "No, stuff him, why should I. I’m far too busy looking after the well being of British speedway." Voice of reason: "Well don’t forget you are not only punishing Loram, but also the fans." BSPA fool: "The fans! Who cares." Have a go a Loram for not filling the form, but not at my expense.

I'm no defender of the BSPA but in this case from the info on here it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

The half a dozen has not! I still feel that a reminder should be sent out or a phone call or something, it cannot be that difficult to do! well, apparently it is! Quite easy when sorting the British final line up to forget about Loram, the multiple winner….. member of the British WTC team for more years than I care to remember……last British World Champion. Yep it wasn’t done on purpose, it was indeed an oversight. Just as an exercise, when at your next meeting ask five people around you to name the best three British riders from the last few years. See if Loram slips their mind aswell.

iris123
Maybe even Nigel Boocock or Ken McKinlay might have given him a contest in the popularity stakes.Nothing against Mark at all,may i add

Aries
Mark should call their bluff, tell them to include him in the GB Championship or he will not ride in the world cup. I'd bet my last pound the BSPA would grant him entry in a heartbeat

I'd bet my last pound the BSPA would grant him entry in a heartbeat <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, but at whose expense? The list has already been published for the Championship of GB! Much as I want to see Mark ride in it, would hardly think it fair to say to one of the others "sorry you are out now, we are putting Mark Loram in!" Unless ofcourse one of them stood down to allow this to happen! and that happening is less likely than it is for the BSPA to admit they played their part in this major cock-up!
