Can anyone give me any info on seats please - not been to Cardiff before & I wondered which seats are the family ones. I have a seat plan but the website doesn't tell you what seats you are booking . Thank you

My first visit last year

Found a small 4 room family run b+b in Chepstow called the Parkfield, gotta be the best i've ever stayed in, breakfast was great.

Going up on the Friday morning this year and staying till Sunday, what speedway is available on the Friday night??????

May well make an appearance at the forum meet up to meet a few of you. :D

Don't forget it's the England Footie game v Jamaica (I think!) on the Sat afternoon too.... So as we're all in Wales think its best all the England fans try and watch the game together.... As they say it's safer in numbers!

Newport and Somerset have meetings prior to the Grand Prix.

We normally go to Newport, but I don't know if we'll manage it this year because we've got to get from North Wales to South Wales (215 miles apparently) and then find the Boarding Kennels where Molly will be staying for the weekend before they shut at 6pm.

Walkabout at the top of St Marys Street (next to Travelodge) is the best place for the footie - they have a massive screen and was the only place showing England last time England played on GP weekend

Which kennels is she staying in? If it's the same place my cats stay at, I can give you specific directions to the stadium from there. It's quite straightforward and should take no more than 15 minutes.

Newport vs Glasgow. Friday at 6pm. Always a good meeting between Newport and Glasgow as well as a bit of aggro!

It might suprise you but during the World Cup, half of Wales supports England!

This will be my third visit to Cardiff. The first time i was taken aback by the noise volume,it was at saturation point and very strange to experience noise of that magnitude.Last year i was lucky enough to get rid of the kids and me and the wife dined in a cheap and cheerful cafe type restaurant. For the life of me i cannot remember where it was(not too far from the stadium is my best effort) and it is one of those establishments where it is very basic but the food is not half bad and very reasonobly priced.Quantity over quality is what we are talking about here folks.Oh and did i mention that i got a family room at the ex moat house(now the park inn) just outside Cardiff for only £88 on a bb basis.Wonderful thing the internet

She will be staying at Gedrys Farm Boarding Kennels & Cattery at Gwaelod-Y-Garth. I've done it all on the internet so I'm hoping it's a nice place as I have never put any of my dogs in kennels before.

Jemma has always stayed in the hotel with us in Cathedral Road and the plan was to leave Molly at home with my daughter, but since the G.P. was moved forward a week we will already be on holiday in North Wales so she will be with us.

Ummm, sorry Gemini, I don't know that place at all, and I'm Newport born and bred - our two stay at a place on the A48 halfway between Newport and Chepstow, and it's great. Do you have a town or village name after Gwaelod -Y-Garth in the postal address, because I can't find it in my A to Z. If you can be more specific, I might still be able to guide you into Newport.

Forgive me butting in, but does this help? I found it in Wikipedia - a village in the parish of Pentyrch, South Glamorgan.

Thanks Old Saint and 2ndBender.

If Cardiff is in South Glamorgan then what you've said is correct. :D

The full address is Gwaelod-y-Garth, Cardiff. I don't think it can be too far from Cathedral Road or I wouldn't have booked it - perhaps 5 - 7 miles?

It says on the description "We are equidistant  (Yes, I know what it means now as I've just looked it up!) between the Radyr/Taffs Well turn off and the Upper Boat turn-off - on the opposite side of the valley from Taff Well."

I fully expect us to get completely lost once we get off the M4, hence my doubt that we will be going to Newport this year.

was in Callaghanns last year with my boy no probs

We have taken my boys aged 7 and 11 in Callaghanns in the beer garden before without any problems.

Even had some food not bad either.

Was it during the day, my lad who would pass for a lot older than he is (14) was staying in the Holiday Inn with my Dad (which is joined to the bar) and was asked to leave in the evening  Luckily the hotel bar stayed open to so they went in there instead. If the kids are a nuisance I could understand it but he wouldn't even pass as one of mine he's quiet :P:lol:
