Nikolai Klindt

Recommended Posts

Recently I had a chance to see Nikolai race in Poland (also last year at the U21 world team champs in Pardubice but was still under the influence and sadly don't remember much :) ) and was quite impressed by his riding, every heat he kept on fighting for a better position (unless in front of course) and never gave up. Maybe our Danish friends and Iris can give us some more insight on this rider? :)

Like you tommy i have been impressed with Nikolai. At first it was Patrick Hougaard who impressed me,but he does seem more of a gater. But Nikolai and Leon Madsen(who i have only seen a couple of times because he was injured)do seem more exciting.Kevin Wölbert did beat Nikolai in Denmark when i saw them race each other though ;) Very much the same sort of rider and i do rate Kevin as potentially the best rider from Germany(early days yet). Will be interesting to see how they all get on this season :D

Im sure this is the same rider i saw at the scottish open at armadale last season .

According to the programme he is 17 -born 29-12-88 - and at the time rode for fredericia in his homeland(denmark).

He took his time to find his feet at armadale that night(not the first and wont be last)- two unplaced outings followed by two wins. He won ht10 beating daniel nermark, ronnie correy and jason lyons then won ht14 beating rusty harrison, anders nielsen and the meeting reserve adam mckinna . he finished that night in third place in ht18 behind mark lemon and david howe for a total of 7 points .

But i was immpressed by him that night and as you can see by the company he was keeping is another decent danish prospect we can expect to see over here in the not too distant future .

He was very impressive at Poole last season,in our Young Guns meeting.

Started slowly, but was flying once he sorted his gearing out.

Definitely one to watch.

Must say i am a bit surprised he was used more than Bjerre at the weekend. Is this due to some new rule or just team choice? Can't see KB being too happy travelling for one ride!

If I have understood things correctly a Polish team should be constructed in this way:

1. Anyone

2. Anyone

3. Anyone

4. Anyone

5. Anyone

6. U21-rider

7. U21-rider

8. U23-rider

Riders 1-7 all have scheduled heats, the number 8 is optional and have no scheduled heats. If the number 8 rider are an U21 he can take rides for anyone of 1-7, if he are 22 or 23 he may only take rides for number 1-5.

Bjerre is 22 this year and therefore could only take rides from riders 1-5, Hampel, Swiderski, Andersen, Gapinski and Crump in the meeting you mention.

Any Polish forum members should correct me if I´m wrong...

Have seen Nikolaj in Eskilstuna two times I almost fell in love in his neat tidy racing style, definitive one for the future, think he will go in as reserv with Smederna later in the season.

Must mention dane Peter Juul to, he was also at Eskilstuna twice last year and impressed to at the tender age of 15, belive he is 16 now. Peter is riding for Bysarna in Sweden in 2006.

I can tell you he wasn't. A long long trip for one ride.

As I understood he is contractly promished minimum 4 starts at every meeting he is in.

The Edinburgh Monarchs were very interested in bringing him over to ride for them this season, but he wants to finish his schooling first.

Frede Schott recommended him for the Scottish Open and as PaulCo said, once he found his feet he was superb.

Wonderful style + super fast gating = SUPER HOT PROSPECT!!

Would love to see him ride for the Monarchs, but he is destined for bigger things IMO.
