From what I can remember Its £13 admission for adults

There was an advert in the SS last week & from what I can remember the agenda is

2.00pm - 4.00pm Practise

5.00pm - 6.00pm autograph session

6.00pm - 7.00pm Live Band

Then Parade at 7.30pm with first race 7.45pm.

Thanks for the info Triple B's. I'm surprised there's nothing yet on the official Norfolk Arena website. :o

No good for people who have to work having a meeting from 2pm is it??? What's the use in that? Perhaps if someone had bothered to advertise the meeting properly then more people would have been able to organise their time and made a day of it. We've just had a bank holiday weekend but of course at King's Lynn stock cars and bloody caravan racing take precedent over speedway meetings don't they?

What a farce.

Oh and I don't get the SS anymore, does it mean I have to, to know what events are in the pipeline?

'Speedway: Best of British battle it out at Norfolk Arena. Lynn host one of the biggest meetings on the British speedway calendar tomorrow night when the British Under 21 final comes to the Norfolk Arena.

A three-man reserve race-off will begin the action, with the winner making it through to the final line-up.

Simon Lambert will carry local hopes in the reserve race on the back of his paid 12 against the Isle of Wight on Good Friday.

The main meeting sees 20 qualifying heats with the top two going through to the final.

There will then be a race-off for the next top four scorers with the first two home taking their place in the final.

Co-promoter Jonathan Chapman said: "We are expecting our biggest crowd for some time, probably approaching the 3,000 mark.

"There is a lot of interest in the meeting, especially with there being riders from Mildenhall, Rye House, Sheffield and Scunthorpe."

Gates open at 2pm, with a practice session being held until 4pm.

At 4pm there is a 250cc bike trial, which will involve former Star Richard Knight's son Jake.

An autograph session will follow in the bar between 5 and 6pm before a live band prior to the action.

Prices are: £13 adults, £9 concessions and £4 children.

Full line-up: Edward Kennett, Joel Parsons, Ben Barker, Ben Wilson, Richie Dennis, William Lawson, Josh Auty, Luke Bowen, James Brundle, James Wright, Lewis Bridger, Benji Compton, Daniel King, Jason King, Steve Boxall.Reserves: Simon Lambert, Jack Hargreaves and Jamie Courtney. '

So much for the oompa lumpa raising the bar for this meeting and publicising it like no one before! So he gets his crayons out and puts an advert in the Star? Well done!

Shame this meeting is on a Wednesday and not a Friday/Saturday night. Whats the reason for not staging it on Friday night?

Jason King spoke absolute rubbish in the star this week when he said that he was in favour of it being at Lynn as it meant riders who can't ride small tracks will have a better chance of qualifying in Poland for example. Wrong Jason. Do you think if a James Brundle or yourself qualify now that it is at Lynn you will storm the field in the qualifying rounds and get in the world final? Answer is no. King bombed out in the qualifying rounds before so speaking rubbish. The best under 21's have qualified for the world rounds over the last few years it has been staged, but doubt we will get that at Lynn. Riders like Brundle, Jason King, Parsons could easily quaify as they go half decent round Lynn.

Think it's five through and one wild card.

Fancy D.King, Wright, Lawson(if his bikes work), Kennett and Boxall to qualify. If it's too deep you can take Kennett and Boxall out though. Bridger could do anything, but he'll get the wildcard anyway if he doesn't qualify.

1stly there is already a thread set up for this. Secondly what you say about it being at lynn and that some of the better riders therefore wont qualify is completely wrong. If you are a good rider, you should be able to race on any track. And K.Lynn has been noted as one of the best tracks in Britain for a long time now.

Dont think Kennett will get through as he hates the track. Boxhall rode superbly at Lynn a few weeks ago and i think he will do well. However I do agree with you in saying D.King, Wright and Lawson will qualify. Then again its a strong line up and anyone on their day could possibly win it.

Yep saw the other thread, but no offence to who started it, but they look like they suffer from Dyslexia with the topic headline.

If Kennett doesn't get through he will get the wildcard anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Yes all riders should gbe able to ride all tracks so lets hope the top boys go through and a Lynn specialist like Brundle doesn't.

So people that are fortunate enough to be able to attend the practice session should be prevented because others cannot get time off! Sorry I really cannot see any logic in that. Do we cancel the British GP cos some people have to work on Saturday evenings?

Details were announced of the full timetable at last Fridays meeting (oh sorry you didn't go did you) and as has been stated were in the Speedway Star.

As for Stocks and caravan racing over the weekend, it ain't my thing either but what I do know is the profits from it have gone a long way towards the massive stadium improvements at the Norfolk Arena, they haven't interfered with the speedway so I really can't get worked up about them.

To be honest with you I dont think Brundle will be good enough, Hope he proves me wrong as hes a local lad and a lot of bad luck over the last couple of years with car crashes etc. Good Luck James.

Did I say that?? No! Just pointing out that the majority of fans surely will be at work (not so if lucky enough to be on holiday) and most of the children that go to speedway will still be in school, therefore not giving them the chance of going seeing the whole afternoon's entertainment.

No SL, as you well know already I didn't go Friday, I didn't realise I had to attend every home meeting to qualify to have an opinion on other meetings. :P And as already stated I no longer buy the SS.

Well as long as they take precedence we will no longer see weekend and Bank Holiday speedway meetings at KL as we were able to years ago, and that imo is a great shame.

You know what I mean. :P

I know exactly what you mean. Good Fridays used to be Ipswich double headers. They were something to look forward to. Now we get I.O.W who are prob. the furthest away from us, maybe a double header against mildenhall would have been better. Thats next bank holiday tho. I think.

But fair play to Buster and Jonathon for getting so much Bangers down there, it must be better for them as look at the crowds you get at bangers compared to speedway.

The best bit is the Chapmans arent putting it all in their own pockets, as you can see what they are trying to do. Just take a look at the stadium now compared to 2 years ago, thats why they have been granted a big meeting like tomorrow. and who knows if they carry on getting good money for bangers they can improve the stadium further and then we could have even bigger speedway meetings ( which the track deserves ) in Lynn. I think thats their aim anyway.

maybe we had the same enthusiasm for IOW that you had for Newport a few weeks ago Whistle.gif ... don't recal people making such a big deal of it though

I don't actually think I made a big deal of it, but if that's how you interpreted it, that's your perogative

Still if we keep this repartee up for the next twelve hours or so it's possible we might spread the word that there is actually a British U21 Final tomorrow, cos the BSPA as usual have shown their complete comtempt for young British riders.

There again that is very nearly matched by the almost complete lack of interest by EL fans, (you know the ones...they complain about the lack of British heat leaders in the EL league  )

I wouldn't hold your breath about getting bigger meetings Daniel, take it from me, after hearing it from the horses mouth, it's doubtful.

Wouldn't call him much of a Lynn specialist myself! And I would agree that he probably won't be good enough to get through but you never know. No doubt the cream will qualify (including Kennett as I can't see it being too grippy) with probably one surprise, quite possibly Ben Barker who rides Lynn well. Will you be attending Chris?
