Wroclaw - Wild Card

Recommended Posts

There has just been a press conference and the promoters of Wroclaw's GP have announced that their official candidate of Wild Card rider is Krzysztof Kasprzak. There are also two other candidates if Kasprzak won't be approved by FIM/BSI: Tomasz Gapinski and Janusz Kolodziej.

Great news for KK. I know he was exceptionally disappointed with his performance the last time he was given a wild card - think first night nerves got the better of him! His British form at least has carried on from where he left off last year, so hopefully we'll get to see that sort of scoring this time!

He is the World U21 Champion (however dodgy the outcome of that meeting was) so it was always likely he would get one of the places. I can't see that the FIM are likely to turn him down. Maybe Kolodziej will get the nod for the other Polish GP?

If picked expect a far better performance from Kasprzak this year .

If he stays fit am sure he will be World Class in 2006 .

A young rider who can gate and come from behind and always looks in control of his machine .

Also whatever the meeting hates to lose a race .

Good luck KK. Janusz will get his chance at Bydgoszcz

I'm sure Janusz will get his chance soon. Good Luck KK and I'm sure he will do a good job.

I don't think it's the matter of permanent not giving any chance for Jano. I even don't think it's the matter of Jano at all. It's just that KK was given a chance far more than he deserved: SWC 2004, SWC 2005, GP of Wroclaw 2005 - none of them he succeded. And now he's given another chance again, while his form at polish tracks is for sure not at the top level. Time to wake up I think; there will be no more 2-euro coin toss in the senior speedway...

And all of this conceited interviews after this year's E-league meetings, or before last year's GP of Wroclaw. Im just fed up with this guy.

Great to see K.K. given another chance .

Believe he is still under 21.

A rider who can only get better if he stays injury free .

Sure Kolodziej will get a chance before the end of the season , with his undoubted talent and his links with the the Reading Promotion .

The right man has been given the berth. KK is a better rider than Kolodziej at the moment and his form has been good this year. Kolodziej is riding from the reserve berth and gets easy rides. A year behind KK IMO. I am sure Kolodziej will get the second Polish GP wild card though.

KRZYSZTOF Kasprzak scored only three points in Monday's meeting with Polonia Bydgoszcz. His father blames his club – Unia Leszno – for that.

"Just before the meeting Krzysztof was informed that he would start from a reserve position. He was stunned," says Zenon Kasprzak, one of Poland's best speedway riders in the past. "If he had started in the main body, he would have scored many more points, that is sure. But the club's bosses wanted to make places for two foreign riders. It happened at the cost of Krzysztof," blasted Zenon.

Unia Leszno coach Zbigniew Jader decided not to comment on this attack. But Krzysztof Kasprzak is disappointed, just as his father. "During the last five years I saved Leszno many times. And how am I treated now?" asks Kasprzak, who has just been given a wild card for Speedway Grand Prix in Wroclaw (6 May).

KKs average is nearly 9, from the difficult number 5 berth at Poole. He often meets the oppositions best rider in his first ride as well. He is number 11 in the overall elite league averages.

Kolodziej is also having a great season in the UK, and his average is not far behind KKs at 8.71. But the difference is that he is riding at the reserve berth, where points are easier to come by. Kolodziej HAS had a great start to the season as well, don't get me wrong. And if he can maintain that form once he has moved into the team, then he is also worthy of a GP wild card, and will probably get his chance in the Bydgozsz round later this year.

Once again I ask: what the hell has UK to do with that ? Isn't GP of Wroclaw placed in Poland ? And have you looked at their form in our league ?

Yeah, nothing better than blaming his form on the fact that he was at reserve...cry me a river Zenon/Kris ;):)

IMO Janusz is technically much more superior rider than Kris will probably ever be. And If I had to choose between the two for my team I'd pick JK in a heart beat.
