Taken From www.fentigers.com From Kevin Long!

Trish, Tina, Dave, Chris, Pete etc we all missed being out on the track today but the kings lynn girls did a good job so well done to them

Also think we will find that Jason Lyons was suffering from Engin Gremlins theirfor did not go out in the 12 lapper. BUT not 100% on that one.

Thanks for that Grid Girl

It was great fun trying to update and I bet even worse for Mummy Fairy to try to get everything correct.

Oh well, at least we tried and it gave me a laugh on a Sunday afternoon.

Finally back from Mildenhall having had a brilliant afternoon.

We didnt arrive at the stadium till 1.50pm.

Got me a programme and went to sit in the sun.

Looked for a pen in my handbag and couldnt find one so thought - wont bother with the programme I'll just relax and take it all in.

5 minutes later I found a pen but realsied half the riders had changed and I didnt have a clue who was who.

So I muddled along. By chance I called Crazy Sue about something and found out no one was updating so I tried my best!!

Sorry for all the in-accuracies but I was of to a loosing start as I didnt know who was who!!!

But it was fun and Sue did a superb job with the first phone call - 8 heats and the junior meeting all in one hit!!

Hope we kept you all entertained. We certainly were - one of the best testimonials I have been too. The weather helped obviously!!! :D

Folks --can I thank the riders who stood in for the withdrawals , especially those who stepped in at the last moment.

I hate to think what Shaun and my phone bills will be on our mobiles this month as we must have spoken to just about every rider in the UK during the days leading up to the meeting . If there weren't in Poland or Denmark they were ill, enjoying their birthday or had family events planned or enjoying a free weeknd (and who can blame them!!).

We were hit by some very late withdrawals --and even then when we lined up three replacements could not take into account two of them getting injured on Saturday night and one going down with a bug that had hit his whole family!! We lost Jacek Rempala (injured at Berwick on Saturday), Karl Mason (injured at Rye House on Saturday) and Mark Thompson (stomach bug).

My heartfelt thanks to Danny Giffard as I pulled in a favour --I sent him a text very late on Saturday night and he rang me back and after sorting out Danny Betson to mechanic for him willingly drove up from Sussex to fill in for David Howe who had to pull out with a knee injury.

Nicky Glanz kindly agreed to replace Karl Mason at short notice (thanks to Karl's dad John of Bee Line Oils for sorting this).

Andrew Bargh found a text on his phone from me as he finished the CLRC at Rye House and immediately came to rescue, answering witha Yes straight away --cheers mate!!

Matt Browne flew back in from America and had me on the phone to him staright away as we lost Chris Neath to a guest booking at Newport as I lined him up with quick arrangements made for Billy Janniro to bring him down with him --nice one Matt and good luck with your riding trip to Sweden mate.

Shaun must have been stressing like mad but I promised him that we would have a full 16 man line -up and we did . It may not have been the one we had planned but I think each and every one of them did their bit. I had a nightmare morning as I zoomed off to pick up the Kings Lynn Grid / Promotional Girls , getting ahlf way only to find the road closed and having to drive back to Mildenhall and find an alternative route and not getting back till 1 o'clock to sort out the final line-up

for teh meeting!!

That's where I found out that we had further late withdrawals and would like to thank Mark Baseby and Gary Cottham for stepping into breach at the 11th hour with Andre Cross and Dean Garrod for standing by as reserves.

Mr Wong I notice has been critical of the final line-up but if he had been in my shoes trying to get this sorted I wonder what he would have done ????? I cannot allow for riders getting injured , being ill and pulling out at the last minute -nor can I have done any more to have found any other riders when so much was going on that weekend elsewhere.

Shaun and I would have loved nothing better than to have had the original 16 rides at the meeting but that never happened but those who did ride put on a great show and everything (but for two tape malfunctions in teh Wimbledon v Sittingbourne match) ran smoothly --with thanks to all the staff for their hard work and co-operation for helping achieve this.

The sidecars were superb and the CL mini-match brill.

The 12 lap eight man Final was breathtaking with the two sets of tapes working perfectly and the sight of eight riders battling it out one to behold and but for some bad luck for Shaun and the King brothers and Mark Jones in those 12 laps we saw a great finale to what was a great afternoon.

Many thanks to all those who came up and gave nice comments on how things went --made it all worthwhile!!

Then the auction ended what was a superb (but tiring !!) weekend as I aimed back home via Kings Lynn to drop the Grid girls off --but one thing , next time Huggy says follow me I know a short cut --remind me to ignore him!!! What an experience that turned out to be --but that's another story!!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped make Shaun Tacey's Testimonial a success.

Agree with laurence whole heartedly on this it was a nightmare, after 7 months of preparation from what really started off as a crazy idea, between Shaun and myself, to find out we are having to organise rider changes the week before due to re-scheduling, injury etc. Was a total nightmare, the last week Laurence's phone has been on fire and the night before and the morning of he must have been the biggest shareholder in his mobile phone company!

However Shaun's testimonial, went off as we had hoped "with a bang", the amount of people who came up and said it was awesome, spectacular etc. it really was amazing.

So now our crazy little idea and all the hardwork that went into it is over, we would like to thank all the riders who took part, but we have to single out some don't we.

Mark Jones- what a lovely lad, helped keep the party rocking on sat night, along with paul lee, james brundle etc. However on track what a rider, were it not for a bit of bad luck in the 12 lapper he would have been on the rostrum for sure. He really is a talent that we need on our speedway tracks and appreciated being brought into the meeting. So come on promoters get that lad in your team for 2007!

Billy Janniro-Another one who kept the party rocking the night before and supported the raffle and various fund raising actiities that night. Who on the track even on Shauns bike at 1 point showed his sheer class. Who during the final just ate his way up the field. Thanks Billy, hope you enjoy the auction items you bought, Im sure you needed another crash helmet.

Matt Browne- Has a Hancock style about him and is definitely one for the future

Daniel King- So deserved to win the final, when he ran out of fuel, but managed to push bike home and secure a place, another one who showed pure class.

jason King- Rode brilliantly, had an unlucky spill in first heat when track was a bit greasy, but then provided us with some great riding.

Jimmy Jansson- Several people said after , how his style reminded them of Tommy's, proved to be an out and out racer and was brilliant to watch. Come on promoters you heard it here another one to pick up for 2007

Linus Eklof- Who? a lot of people asked, well now everyone who was there knows why we booked him so early, entertaining rider, full throttle (made one or 2 errors on an unfamiliar track) but future star .

Leigh Lanham- As usual provided some brilliant riding and as usual was the true professional he always is, definitely a worthy winner.

Jason Lyons- As always the calm pro provided some great racing having in one race a fantastic battle to keep Mark Jones behind him.

James Brundle- unlucky a few times, but really rose to the occasion showed what a battler he is

Dan Giffard- It was great to see him in the final, glad he got his chance especially after his late call up to the event and gave it his all for us

Shaun Tacey-for a guy who was totally stressed at the start of the meeting showed he can still give the rest a run for their money on track, not bad after all the work he put in to his testimonial.

Could go on about the riders in the event, but to every rider who took part thankyou.

The Wimbledon and sittingbourne racing showed us why they should be seen in league racing, clubs like these are our speedway future, bringing on new riders who otherwise woould be lost to speedway, with Graham and Dingle being the absolute professionals they are .

The sidecars thankyou to Gary Southgate for organising this for us and to all the outfits who gave up their sunday to race in this event.

Finally thankyou to Carl at the stadium for all his help, Paul Carrington for brilliant refereeing, Mildenhall track and turnstile staff, Huggy for the brilliant race track which had to cope with 30 heats of racing and did just that, Heather and the girls for selling raffle tickets, Mandy for dealing with all that she dealt with during the meeting, paramedic, St Johns, all the sponsors, Emma and Ashley for all their running about and hard work, Kevin for his microphone works, the harley davidson boys who did the parade (what an awesome site they were sitting in the tunnel waiting to come out on track), Re Run productions for filming the event, the mad scotsman and Kingys dad for the barbecue, Eileen, Di Farmer, Susan and Terri, Laurence. If I have missed anyone out sorry shaun and I are so grateful to all of you for your help and support. Finally (thank god), thanks to all the fans who turned up and supported, in their words this spectacular event. Apologies to all the track staff when i had the breakdown on the centre green after the final, it was just the sheer relief that shaun and i had made the crazy dream come true!

Well done to all involved - a cracking day with some great speedway, fun and lots of smiling faces (blimey was this Mildenhall? :o:lol: ).

Teddybear - I think I have a pic of Shaun comforting you after your 'breakdown' - send me your email and I'll get it across.

I do apolagise for the critiscism(sp?) Main Man, it was more out of dissapointment than anything as i was looking forward to seing the riders in the original line up riding, but of course i do understand the lengths you go through to help anybody out Laurence and you did a great job in helping Shaun with the programme as well as everything else.

When you put the unsold items up for auction again let me know.

Thanks

Wong
