Kinky Knight
Just want to say a BIG WELL DONE to Nicki for a great performance tonight. For once he wasn't causing the trouble and he kept his cool to come through when it counts. Bad luck for the brits and my man Sully but the ever lovely Nicki put a smile on my face, it also helped that I won the sweepstake too!!! AndyDB
Yep, well done too to Nicki, most people who know me will know that he'll never be my favourite rider but he is "ours" while he's at Oxford and whether he's riding good or bad i'll support him so long as he keeps it clean, but he deserved to win! On our sweepstake, just before I drew I made it clear I did NOT want David Howe.......(sorry you David Howe fans!)....and who was the first rider I picked............grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! I heard that our sweepstake was won by someone with Nicki, Bo and Tony.... now I had Nicki and Bo but of course Howe had to spoil my fun! On my second go I got Todd, Crump and Bjarne. jronayne
Well Done Nicki, nice to see your *ahem* 'Groin strain' didn't hamper your progrees throughout the meeting. Unluckiest man of the night: Scott Nicholls Poor bloke continued his season of carrying every Ipswich fans hopes, by having to carry 50,000 British fans hopes last night. Scotty gets a great start in his race, then 'Lucky' Ricko goes and falls gets AJ excluded and Scotty has to do it again only this time he tries to hard and takes Nicki out. :-( Nice to see Bomber and Steady beat Gollob last night. I feel sorry for poor old Bomber, if it wasn't for that bloody track could have seen an interesting race between him, Howey and Ronni. 1. Trick - lucky to get to the final after 'that' eliminator, ref should get his rule book out me thinks. 2. Crumpy - I thought he was going to win it with him getting 'Gate Blue' 3. Sullivan - Pants, couldn't gate and was miles off when at the back. 4. Adams - Consistnet as ever 5. Max - Well below his usual standards 6. Hancock - Battled well throughout the night and had 'Gate Blue' when it mattered in the eliminators/semis 7. Gollob- rightly excluded in my opinion though i think the fans had a part in the ref's decision 10. Dryml- battled away but didn't get much for his effort 11. Holta - Another solid performance 12. Some good racing and got a well deserved win 13. Scotty - My man of the night for keeping the british hopes alive for so long. Long Live King Scotty 14. AJ - The speed swede. Unlucky to get eliminated because Posselwhite bottled it when it came to excluding the World Champ. 15. Toddy - Some great racing from this guy. A good send off from the fans too. Enjoy retirement Todd! 17. Richardson - Dissapointed to go out so early on a track he did well on last year 18. Brhel - poor 19. Pepe - starting to put in some good performances, lucky to go through one of the eliminators as the track caused one of the other riders to 'lose it' 20. Pedersen - Unlucky that ht 12 was stopped after being in one of the positions to go through 21. Bajerski- impressed me with two heat wins, tailed off thought before being eliminated 22. Lyons - Off the pace 23. Howe - gave it his all but with no reward. 24. Steady - Great 1st race before being eliminated 26. PK - produced the race of the night in my opinion with his win in ht8 (i think!!) 27. Ronni Pedersen - Performed better than i expected with some good 'team' riding with bruv Nicki in ht12 31. Bomber - Fantastic for him to beat Gollob and i'll never know how he would have gotten on had it not been for that 'woeful' track. The Millenium Stadium is a great venue for the GP, with a good day out for all concerned, but if its good quality speedway your after it won't be found on a one-off track with 'Gate blue' playing a significant part in the nights proceedings. A question for you all. Q. How can the World Championship be decided by being lucky when it comes to chosing a ball out of a bag (or whatever they do). Surely everyone should be on an even level (or as even as you can get it with people like Ricko splashing the cash on machinery and people like Lyons who admitted he cant afford to do a Ricko) PS. thanks to everyone who contributed with your airhorns for the atmosphere even if i still have a terrible headache :-(
Diesel
Well done Nikki, after taking a few knock on the way he thoroughly deserved it - and also earns extra brownie points by stopping Jason Crump from winning! I dont think the racing was as bad as everyone made out, and to be honest out of the three I thought this years was the best! The thing that that completed the evening for me was the two female Ryan Sullivan fans in the row infront of me who burst into tears when he was eliminated. To say I p****d myself at them would be an understatement! Im already looking forward to next year!
Mylor
Q. How can the World Championship be decided by being lucky when it comes to chosing a ball out of a bag (or whatever they do). Surely everyone should be on an even level (or as even as you can get it with people like Ricko splashing the cash on machinery and people like Lyons who admitted he cant afford to do a Ricko) A1. The World Championsip is decided on race results. A2. A true champion should be able to score well from any gate. A3. The luck of the draw should even itself out over the nine rounds. Rickardsson's a great rider but, especially last year, his triumphs were somewhat devalued in the eyes of neutrals (and more importantly the missus :? ) by his domination of gate 1. He's still top of the tree under the new rules so that says something. Will my hearing return to normal before next year??

21st century heathen
Well done Nicki. Great result for one the best entertainers out there. Scott - very unlucky to be caught out by the track. AJ - very unlucky to be excluded. Having watched the replays over and over I thought Tony was to blame on that one. Crumpie - seems to have had a bit of an attitude adjustment. To me he seemed commited without being overly aggressive. Greg - Another final. Making a bit of a come back after a couple of tough years. 3 out of the last 4 finals for Herbie. Keep it up Grin. Tomasz B and Pepe are impressing me this year. Starting to turn in some good solid performances, and beating riders many wouldn't expect them to. Good experience for the young Brits. Great to see Simon and Chris beat Tomasz G. Disappointed with David. He's not having a great season but he's certainly young enough to come back. I thought the track held up better then the last two years. Perhaps they should let the dirt build up on the outside though. As Ryan showed in last years final if there's dirt out there you can use it.
Dekker
Trying for WW3 already Jim???? Or do you trying for Mr Contraversial 2003? NP rode his luck, but as you know at this standard you need buckets of it to win. Was very lucky to get back in rerun with his clash with Crump, but thats the breaks sometimes. As for AJ, he got what he deserved, he is very impetuous at times and he gets into crashes he shouldnt. 3 guys coming across him and he just cuts diagonally across them, what did you think was gonna happen? Hanne
IMO he is a cheat at the best of times and did not deserve to win it. On his first 'crash' he made a meal of to try and get another rider excluded. At other times he is like an accident looking for somewhere to happen and when he is not he is abusing his mechanics and equipment. It's okej that you don't share the same opinion as me, i can live with that, and i know he's a controversiel rider - But I can't for the life of me see how you can justify saying that Nicki didn't deserve to win it - The guy started from heat 2 and battled his way through the meeting...he did 8 heats and had 11 starts. Maybe he was lucky not to be excluded (that depends on the eye that see i guess) but nobody can take the victory away from him. Yes he's a hard racer, but not more than anyone else.. I don't have anything against Scott Nicholls at all, i think he's a great rider, and I hoped he would make it to the final - But he slammed straight into Nicki, and of course he should be excluded for that (Nicki got excluded for doing almost the same thing to Bjarne earlier)... Nicki was brilliant, and showed that he's made of the right stuff... A hard working little bugger, like Jason said after the meeting. Well done Nicki, you deserved it ... Proud to be Danish
Joanne
You're right, Hanne. Nicki deserved to win. Thanks to Gemini for waving the other side of the flag for me. Will be in Copenhagen cheering for Nicki soon
DawnG
Nicki definitely deserved the win on Saturday (not that I'm biase Nicki P fan ) Well done and thanks to all the riders and staff at the stadium and fans that I met who made it a most enjoyable weekend for my first visit to Cardiff, definitely be back next year waving my flag for Nicki. fatface
Nice one Nicki indeed. He's someone who provokes debate from all fans - good - because like him or not, he is a character and speedway certainly needs them. Also, I had a couple of quid on him and at 16/1 - my GP ticket was nearly free. So double nice one Nicki.
