Addy
The Speeway Star was still hot off the press when I booked this tour about a month ago. Couldn't miss this one - includes Budapest, Poland, 5 meetings - and of course the GP. We are both excited about going and have planned the route on the computer (how sad is that , lol) Also if you look on Google Earth - you can see both the Pyramida Hotel and Marketa stadium. Who else is going? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Incidently I also put our names down for the 2008 Aus trip - James told me that he had received 30 other enquires on that first day. Shaledodger
Who else is going? Mrs Shaledodger and I are doing the 4 Cities Tour too. Ideally I'd have liked to see more team matches, rather than individual meetings, but the lure of the trip was just too great. For anyone interested in breweries, Dreher's Brewery and Museum in Budapest's District X, do tours (they can be in English) every day between 9am and 4pm. Cost 1,300 forints (about £3.50). Beware the waiters in central Budapest bars. Negotiate the price before ordering or you run the risk of being ripped off. Cricket fans may like to know that the Prague Bohemians Cricket Club are planning to host an international 6-A-Side tournament over the Czech GP weekend. Their ground is right opposite the Marketa Stadium. See you on the Manchester plane, Addy. Any idea when it is taking off? We've got to get down from Edinburgh. James should be able to get a good stop over rate this far ahead, and you will be well rested for this exciting journey
Addy
This was a great tour - absolutely top. Saw so much and had such great company 5 good hotels, interesting tours, and lots of speedway - including seeing Crumpy get his just rewards. Even the small speedway meetings were fun. Any one who says there isn't enough young talent haven't seen some of the riders we saw. That last meeting in the beautiful Czech countryside with barbecue and lots of beer just brought the whole thing to a great end. Can't believe we did it all in 12 days. Addy
Absolutely gobsmacked One month after being there ... It's all going off in Hungary The government's alleged deception regarding the country's financial situation has come to a head. Our guide did mention at the time how the ordinary people have been heavilly hit by taxes ... and the riots seem to be a symptom of the frustrations we became aware of. I really liked this place - hope they can sort things out. Edited September 18, 2006 by Addy
