Leliwa
OK, the team-building period is over, it is time to talk about what we can expect ahead. Big changes in Polish speedway we all know about will no doubt make the coming season ever more exciting. To start the discussion I paste a topic from another thread, which is more appropriate here: QUOTEQUOTE(Subedei @ Feb 7 2006, 08:22 PM) Is Burza going to get many rides for Tarnow in 2006? With the new rules meaning Kolodziej is likely to be at No 8 and replacing Burza for most of the meeting? * (Leliwa @ Feb 8 2006, 08:39 AM) I have doubts Kolodziej will be No 8/16 He had issues with being the reserve rider last year and the management knows that he will be most unhappy with it. He talked abut it in the recent interviews and it seems that it is suppose to change. My feeling is that Marcin Rempala will ride as No 8, but, who knows. As for Burza, it should depend on how good he is going to be in the coming season, but ... there are always other factors in play. If he begins like he did two years ago he will ride regularly. Edit/ And here is the list of foreign riders in Poland confirmed by GKSZ: PZM announcement1 PZM announcement2 Edited February 8, 2006 by Leliwa

Leliwa
What big changes have happend in Poland & what are the new rules regarding no 8'. Thanks! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, concerning the numbers: No 6 and 7 on a visiting team and respectively 14 and 15 on a home team are reserved for U21 riders. The new rule concerns No 8 on a visiting team and No 16 on a home team, which are reserved for U23 riders. No 7, 8 and 15, 16 are reserve riders but No 8 and 16 could replace U21 rider only if they themselves are U21. Another new rule, deriving from the opening of Polish league to foreign riders, limits GP participants (top 15) to 2 on a team lineup for particular event. This also includes Polish riders. This concerns E-Liga only, as in lower leagues GP riders are not allowed all together. Edited February 8, 2006 by Leliwa

Leliwa
Indeed this is very sad day for Polish speedway. I remember Mariusz Okoniewski from the 80s. Way too early for Him to go.
matylda
Unfortunately, we all can see lots of sad events which change Polish speedway a lot. Last years are not very lucky for us - and that's really sad fact that we lose such great people who are the real history of speedway in our country... It's observable that Polish speedway depreciates without its heros... Mariusz Okoniewski [*]
tommy
Bad news for fans of Wanda (especially Rico and HenryW), according to unofficial news Wanda Krakow won;t start in the 2006 campaign . In it's place we'll likely see Gdansk. Edited February 15, 2006 by tommy
Champion
Bad news for fans of Wanda (especially Rico and HenryW), according to unofficial news Wanda Krakow won;t start in the 2006 campaign . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, ther's always Tarnow in the neighbourhood. There are Tarnow-Wroclaw and Tarnow-Czestochowa E-league meetings planned on the 30th of April and 3rd of May as I remember.
Subedei
Thought there was a big Zielona Gora-Ostrow meeting around that time? I fancy that Rico and HenryW were intending to attend that meeting until "Wanda" turned their heads.
Rico
The Ostrow v Zielona Gora match is on the Sunday Subedei and we still intend going along to that. This news has made me choke on my pierogi ruskie - I can't believe they aren't even starting the season. If this turns out to be the case then we'll just have more time to enjoy the delights of Krakow. Although it depends on what time Tarnow's match starts if they are at home that day - might be worth considering. Rico
Leliwa
Rico, careful with those pierogies, we do not wannna loose you On the 3rd of May we have a match against Czestochowa in Tarnow. What time it will begin is unknown, probably around 7PM. Hope to see you in Tarnow. Get together for beer is a must!
Rico
Rico, careful with those pierogies, we do not wannna loose you <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Damned tasty they were too. I have had pierogi in a restaurant before and wasn't too fussed for them. I cooked these at home with some pepper and onion and they were much tastier. I think I prefer them lightly fried as opposed to boiled, which the restaurant ones were.On the 3rd of May we have a match against Czestochowa in Tarnow. What time it will begin is unknown, probably around 7PM. Hope to see you in Tarnow. Get together for beer is a must! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's under consideration Leliwa. We haven't been to Tarnow before and it would be good to see Tomek Gollob, Kolodziej and all the rest in action on their home track. Will let you know what comes of from discussions here and will certainly be up for some beers if it comes off. Rico
