Guest Sir Lunchalot
Tis Bryn here...currently enjoying Sir Lunchalot's hospitality and using his login because I can't be bothered to log him out then log in etc! Anyway Lunchy has "retired hurt" for the night at the unearthly hour of 10.45pm and yours truly has been let loose on his puter! We're off to Broadford in the morn for the Vic Champs and will bring you a report upon our return. Weather rather better here in Melbourne (gonna be 41 celcius on Sunday) than it was in Sydney this week!

Guest Sir Lunchalot
Bryn here again despite the login (Lunchy's cooking supper!) - we haven't long got back from Broadford and what a good day it was but boy was it a hot one! That especially applied to the control tower (alas no air conditioning!!!) from where Sir L and yours truly shared the commentary. To confirm the result: 1st - Cameron Woodward 2nd - Travis McGowan 3rd - Mark Jones 4th - Kevin Doolan Cameron made the gate in the final and Travis was all over him for the full four laps, but Cam rode the perfect race. Mark Jones was close behind in third and Kevin Doolan from the outside was caught out in the run to the first bend and tailed off in fourth. At one stage Mark Jones mounted a challenge on the front two in what was a terrific race. Points scores after 20 heats were: Travis McGowan … 15 Cameron Woodward … 13 Kevin Doolan … 13 Mark Jones … 12 Corey Gathercole … 12 Karlis Ezergailis … 8 Jason Stewart … 7 Tyron Proctor … 7 Chris Ferguson … 7 Tom Hedley … 6 Brock Gates … 5 Matt Jones … 5 Danny Warwick … 3 Jake Anderson … 3 Sam Dore … 1 (from 4 rides) Corey Dore … 0 (from 3 rides) Quentin Byrne (res) … 2 Although they had identical race records in terms of wins, seconds etc, Mark Jones qualified for the final on the basis that he beat Cory when they met in the heats. Was good to be back at Broadford again (my first visit this trip) and congratulations to all concerned in organising / running the meeting and, of course, to Cam the new Victorian Solo Champ. Guest Sir Lunchalot
is mark jones not riding in uk this year? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mark was chatting yesterday at Broadford to Bryn Williams (who's currently staying with me) and told him that he faces a scaphoid operation soon after the forthcoming Aussie Under 21 title being held at Gillman in South australia. Doctors have told him that he's likely to be in plaster for up to 12 weeks afterwards but Mark does hope to get across to the UK sometime this year for "a look."
