Ice Speedway Semi At Inzell

Recommended Posts

Great meeting tonight & finished in record time! 5pm start & done & dusted by half 6!!!! It wasn´t as cold as Thursday´s, which was just as well, although it did start to snow as wifey & I walked back to our hotel :)

Looking forward to tomorrow; Franky Zorn seems to be unstoppable on his fast bikes. Heat 17 when he beat the Russians was brill.

We were very impressed with the youngster from Finland, Tommy Flyktman. If he can get some fast bike (anyone from Beru watching?!!) he could be one to watch for the future. He´s joint 5th going into tomorrow so hopefully he´ll make the final :)

Not too sure how Nikulin beat Zorn in heat 15. From where we were, it looked like Franky was half a bike length in front. Even the scoreboard gave it to Zorn until half way round the first lap of the next race when the announcer excitely said Nikulin had it! Mind, it´s great to see him riding well too.

Not looking forward to the drive home after the meeting tomorrow though :(

Hi Conkers,

How you doin'? I think you're right about Franky & Posa for top five.

Posa,what a man,how old is he now,57-58? He's a legend!!!! :D

Good to see Antti & Slava Nikulin through too.

From the look of the line up for the GP's,i think you're in for some great racing in Assen.

How you fixed for Berlin this year?

Just got back home after 24 hours on the road (much better run back than down even through last nights snow). Well good result for Bazeev went about his business very well. We had some interesting decisions from our Swedish ref regarding Serenius, in his first heat of the day on the first bend Posa crossed the blue line by at least 18 inches, then went on to lose the run to the line by a bike length to Bulankin but still won the heat according to the ref.

Please don't get me wrong I love Posa & he was fantastic over the weekend, but it looked a bit dodgy to me and Wifey.

Nikulin managed to get excluded for crossing the blue line against Posa I'm not sure how though unless it was down the 3rd & 4th bend.

We felt sorry for Krasnikov he was unbeatable when his bike would finish the race, but we stopped fealing sorry for him when he let Eibl past (his Beru team mate) to win.

I would love to see Franky Zorn do well this year I'm not sure what happend yesterday, I think he thought he had done enough on Saturday to make the final

& started off a bit slow & when he did get it together his chain came off right in front of us.

I think Krasnikov will be the 1 to watch over the 4 rounds of the World Championship.

All in all a great weekend of Ice Racing , allthough i dont think I can ever remember anywhere being so cold ( I had a bottle of screen wash in the door pocket of the car which was good to -20 which froze solid & a can of coke also expoloded over night) & seeing so much snow.

I think Assen wont be the same any more without the cold.
