B S I Get It Right

Recommended Posts

It has been the fashion to be very critical of BSI, and their handling of the GP series. On occassions this crticism has been entirely justified, but I think its only fair to heap praise when praise is due.

The decision to bring forward by seven days the cardiff GP has proved to be a masterstroke.

Following the draw this evening, England's opening World Cup fixture is on June 10th, the date on which most people thought the Cardiff GP would be run. To have run the GP against an England World Cup fixture would have been disasterous.

So well done BSI, and lets hope that someone at the BSPA takes note in respect of domestic fixtures.

Chances are it will be an afternoon kick off like the last time the World Cup was on and people were in the bars of Cardiff getting tanked up whilst watching the Football then carrying on the festivities into the night with a touch of speedway at the Millennium Stadium thrown in for good measure. It wasn't a very exciting game I think it was Saudi Arabia or someone like that but it was World Cup, It was Football and as Brits we love the sport so if it's on the tv., we watch it.

Perhaps they didn't want people being drunker than normal at the stadium, like I say it wasn't England playing last time but this year it is  forward planning huh

I'd be surprised if it was an afternoon kick-off. And, if it is, it's likely to be late afternoon, around 4:00pm. Usually, when the world cup is held in Europe, group games kick-off in late afternoon (4:00pm) and in the evening (8:00pm). Remember, Germany is 1 hour ahead of BST. The last time the world cup was on, it was held in South Korea and Japan.

The England game kicks off at 3.00PM German time (2.00PM our time)

Be just like 2002 when we watched England beat Argentina in the Springbok in Cardiff on the Friday afternoon.

Great atmosphere in there, loads of English and of course the Welsh trying to turn it into little Buenos Aires

No noise from sheep (ahem loving) boys

If anyone wants all the games with times, check out http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/w...006/4510476.stm and download the pdf

I think it's a bad idea as well. Right at the end of a Bank Holiday week when a lot of people will be away and have to cut short their holiday to get to Cardiff.

My twins 10th Birthdays.......... Now do I take the kids as a birthday treat? I like to be in the pub getting hammered at Cardiff can't do that with the kids around, just know I wouldn't enjoy it as much with the kids there. So maybe best to give it a miss this year

Birdy, I want you to think long and hard about this statement. Shazzybird needs Cardiff and Cardiff needs Shazzybird, somehow, somewhere a compromise can be found mate.

Against all the odds and despite some irritating problems  , Cardiff was graced  with your presence in 2005 - 2006 should be no different - somehow (with a little help from your friends  ) the Bird family can hit the bars and terraces of Cardiff next year - it just wouldn't be the same without you.

You just know it makes sense.

I been going to Cardiff since the start :approve: can't help but feel apart from it being the twins birthday, Markie not being there last year just didn't have the same buzz for me.

ELRC - Easter weekend will probably be better than Cardiff for me.

We'll have to see what happens, if I can get away from the kids then trust me I'll be there at Cardiff. B)

Cause she plans on being there with me, her mother, who pays an arm and a leg for this education and if she fails anything in her final year i will not be a happy bunny!!!!!!!   :P

No pressure being put on your siblings then. Personally I'd sooner support my kids with lots of love & encouragement than to treat them as a financial burden.

As long as you don't have an exam on Saturday, whats the problem?

Assuming I don't have many exams after that date, then I may well come to Cardiff. Problem is, by then, it will be impossible to get accommodation! Might have to sleep on someone's floor :P
