iris123
And before the last 2 rounds, here is an interview with Mark Uzzel online Didn't know which thread to put it on or start a new one,but an interview with a british ice racer is quite a rarity.Needs to be here somewhere Edited March 22, 2006 by iris123

iris123
Wonder if Sven Holstein can hold on at the top of the juniors or will Max Niedermaier jr storm to the top this weekend? Looked very sharp in Berlin, but of course he wasn't up against Holstein or Gartmann.
Conkers
Watching both of them in Assen, I was impressed by Holstein, but Neidermaier was like his dad in style and was streets ahead of Holstein. Johnny Tuinstra said about Sven, "He is good but needs to be less reckless" a fact bourne out by his two falls. Either way, the young riders - Gatmann, Holstein, Schwaiger, Neidermaier and the Weber brothers, together with the "mad young Russians" - there will be some great Ice racing for years to come Edited March 22, 2006 by Conkers

Heinz Göldi (CH) 1 Overall (after 6 of 7 rounds) 1. Antonin Klatovsky Cz 70 2. Jan Klatovsky Cz 61 3. Marcus Skabraut A 55 4. Rene Stellingwerf NL 53 5. Sebastian Gegenbauer D 51 6. Johnny Tuinstra NL 49 7. Dmitri Tschatschin D 35 8. Graham Halsall GB 35 9. Martin Leitner A 26 10. Heinz Goldi CH 21 11. Claude Gaydene F 14 12. Thomas Cavageli CH 14 Looks like the Russians showed everyone how to race with Baseev and Drozdov beating them all. The Klatovskys look like taking first and second, with Toni only needing to score more than brother Jan to take the title. Skabraut can't win, and best he can get is second. Stellingwerf needs to score more than Skabraut to get a Rostrum spot. Well done to Graham Halsall, with 8th place overall with one round to go. Final Round tomorrow start time 13.00hrs CET. EDIT: Junior Championship Result: 1. Niedermeier 6 2. Gartmann 5 3. Rösti 3 4. Holstein 2 5. Posch 1 6. Schweiger 0 Overall: 1. Sven Holstein (NED) 35 2. Mario Schwaiger (AUT) 29 3. Conkers
Erfurt: Final Round 26.3.2006: 1. Junir Baseev 15 2. Sebastian Gegenbauer 12 3. Antonin Klatovsky 11 4. Johnny Tuinstra 11 5. Markus Skarbraut 11 6. René Stellingwerf 11 7. Ilya Drozdov 11 8. Jan Klatovsky 9 9. Martin Leitner 7 10. Dmitri Tschatschin 6 11. Johann Bruckner 4 12. Andreas Roth 3 13. Tschatschin 41 8. Halsall 35 9. Leitner 33 10. Baseev 30 Juniors: 1. Simon Gartmann 13 2. Max Niedermaier 13 3. Sven Holstein 7 4. Lukas Rösti 5 5. Mario Schweiger 2 6. Martin Posch 1 Overall: 1. =Sven Holstein (NED) 42 1. =Max Niedermaier (GER) 42 3. Simon Gartmann (SUI) 32 4. Mario Schwaiger (AUT) 31 5. Martin Posch (AUT) 20 6. Lukas Rösti (SUI) 15 7. Johann Weber (GER) 7 So Klatovsky retains the Golden Spike. However, according to the German sites, Skabraut was second and Jan K only scored 62 but I'm sure its a mistake. EDIT The worst result doesn't count so all the riders who took part in all 7 rounds have had their worse score dropped. All the others didn't do all the rounds don't lose points as long as they didn't do more than 6 rounds. Crackers I call it! Well done to Graham Halsall, 8th overall is a good achievement Edited March 27, 2006 by Conkers
