But Bryn please get some cotton wool out and wrap Rory in it please. This will be his first 'competitive' ride and at times I think I worry more than his mum!!! Guest Sir Lunchalot
Only 13 riders listed Bryn ? I've looked on the Gillman site and that's all they show there too. I'm wondering if they will somehow work out a 13 rider format or use three locals to make it up to 16. If they do use some of the local lads I know of one who would be delighted to line up against some of the name riders to see how he goes against them. Want me to bring my camera for you to use Bryn ? Trees
Want me to bring my camera for you to use Bryn Yeah go on Sir, better still, you take it so Bryn can be in it too, and anyone who you can persuade who's had connection with King's Lynn in the past or present

Ozyace
Two more sleeps and then over to Adelaide with the gang. Bryn are you going to be at practice on Thursday? Maybe Dan Harding will be in the line up, as Tucker Time is the naming sponser. Any reason why Lemmo isn't riding?

Off to the practice tonight so should team up with Bryn to get the latest gossip. Just as I posted the rain has started !!! Oh no!!! Main Man
A wise decision young Bryn!! A few showers today but most of the work now done ready for the Octane Overdose with Parks hard at work all day again today. Weather forecast for a bit of the wet stuff in the morning (watering the track !!) then dry. Just hope it's a bit warmer than at the Sidewinders tonight where it was good to see Bryn (in a borrowed Arena Essex coat!!). Also there were Troy Batchelor , Robert Ciezlak, Trevor and Daniel Harding with Parks handing out the trophies with impressive 13 year old Brisbane based Darcy Ward taking the honours from the Sedgewick brothers in the final. Great little set up an dsome interesting racing. Had met up with Steve Johnson and his Perth gang and Rory Schlein before going on to the Sidewinders meeting --also met Ozyace who was with Johnno's group. Robert Ciezlak won the 1st prize in the raffle and has donated the DVD Player as a prize at Parks' meeting --nice one Rob. Looks like being a busy day tomorrow -- hopefully Bryn or I will report on the meeting as soon as we can !!

Bryn
Jeez the Bundy has been flowing after what was simply a brilliant night at Gillman Speedway attended by a big crowd who witnessed a superb evening's action which included the main solo event, a support "Young Guns", sidecars, freestyle motocross, a globe of death, bmx fire jump, a live rock group and goodness knows what else! I had a ball sharing the commentary duties with Brendon Gledhill - every part of what was a jam packed schedule of events went like clockwork and, as I said, thegrog flowed freely afterwards! It's 4am here in Adelaide, I'm a bit "bundified"if you get what i mean so just the basic results for now: Senior solos: 1. Leigh Adams 2. Shane Parker 3. Troy Batchelor 4. Travis McGowan Young Guns winner: Tyron Proctor Sidecar winners: Darrin Treloar and Justin Paisted. Good to see Forum members Ozyace, Marty, Lunchy and, of coure, Main Man amongst others in attendance. Time for me to crash out people - I'm bushed! Main Man
Blimey Bryn you,re a glutton for punishment -- posting at 4 am!! Great night. Superb weather and everything went like clockwork. We were all totally shattered at the end of the night and I left the on-going party at about 1.45 heading for a much needed sleep before being back at the track this morning to help with the clear up jobs. All credit to Parks and Anji on a superbly organised event with a good size crowd who well entertained --hats off to the Parker's promotional work including Tv and radio ads. Missed out on seeing a few Forum members as running about doing upteem jobs --including the VIP area barman !! Well let's look forward to five years time and the celebration of 25 years racing from Mr Parker ??? (Was that a big no Anj??? My final few days then down under flying back to Sydney on Tuesday and back home on Weds ---when hopefully I can progress a few speedway related things like the CL tour to the US and whether the new track will make it to the tapes for the 2006 season. My thanks to all my hosts here in Oz --the Hernes in Sydney , Jessica Lamb (thanks for the loan of the car) and Neil --whose house I have been at in Adelaide. Bryn
Yeah Main Man I must be! With assistance from Lunchy, further details as follows: In the main event, the qualifying heats were followed by a five man final. One of the highlights of the night (and trust me there were many!) was Troy Batchelor holding off Leigh Adams to inflict a rare Adams defeat. Batchelor had the inside gate and Adams the extreme outside but Batchelor earned the win by answering eveything Adams threw at him. Parks himself was in fine form too only lowering his colours to Adams both in a heat and in the final where he pushed Leigh hard for the full four laps Rory Schlein eased himself back into the swing of things in his first meeting back after his long lay through injury Scores L Adams 3,3,3,2 = 11 K Doolan 2,ret,2,1 = 5 R Schlein 0,2,3,1 = 6 C Gathercole 1,0,2,0 = 3 S Parker 2,3,3,3 = 11 T McGowan 1,2,2,2 = 7 S Johnston ret,3,1,2 = 6 A Summers 1,0,0,1 = 2 M Wethers 3,1,2,3 = 9 T Harding 1,0,1,1 = 3 J Lyons 2,1,2,0 = 5 T Batchelor 3,3,fx,3 = 9 R. Ksiezak 1,0,0,0 = 1 Final Adams, Parker, Batchelor, McGowan, Wethers In the "Young Guns" solos Ty Proctor and Scott James shared the spoils with two wins apiece with Proctor's two seconds giving him the trophy for the overall winner. With Ksiezak elevated to the main event, he was replaced in the field by Danny Warwick. T Proctor 4,4,3,3 = 14 S James 2,2,4,4 = 12 D Warwick 3,1,2,1 = 7 A Bugeja 1,3,1,dns = 5 D Harding 0,0,0,2 = 2 In the sidecars Treloar / Plaisted were just that bit too good for the other outfits and would have had an unblemished record but for a retirement when in first in their first ride Final Treloar/Plaisted, Plaisted /Harrison, Bottrell/Teale, Munro/Edwards

Main Man
Well Bryn hope you're enjoying the sun --was 40 degrees in Sydney when I left on Weds!! But I had a nightmare 43 hr journey before hitting the sack finally at 01.30 this morning!! The plane developed a fault on the runway at Sydney and we sat for 2 hrs whilst a part was being located --the nearest was in NZ !! It looked like being put up in hotels in Sydney for the night before a part was located and fitted and off the plane went. All going great until the second scheduled stop in Abu Dabi ==where despite an hour having been made up of the time lost we had to fly over and over the airport due to fog and visibility of down to 100 metres. We were then diverted some 60 miles away to a tiny airport where there was only a duty free shop and a tiny cafe!! The new crew and food had to be driven there (2 hrs). On their arrival we were then informed that the part that had been fitted in Sydney had again failed--but they had located one but it and the technician were 2-3 hrs away. The cafe's food limit was Pringles, biscuits and chocolate bars !! Some 7 hours plus later we finally took off (so that was a 9 hr delay in total!!). Never mind eh --it was worth it just to be at Gillman on Saturday for what was superb night (even the mossie bites were worth it!!) Now to get on with some work !!
