Main Man
Can't believe I've come all the way from England and had a rain-off!! The scheduled Gosford opener tonight has been rained off after two days of off and on rain. It was called off this morning but the irony is that it is now hot and sunny as I sit here at the Hernes!! Oh well --pass me another cold one!!
Guest Sir Lunchalot
What else can possibly go wrong for Gosford ? I don't think there is anything else left. Last year they had to cut the season short, then this year there were allegedly some behind the scenes fun and games on the administration side before it was confirmed that Gosford would run in 2005/6 with Terry Poole in charge, the original opening night got called off because 14 NSW riders were riding elsewhere, tonight was down on solo numbers and now this ? I really feel for the Gosford promotion. I didn't see the Herne's name down on the entry list Main Man, has Jay still got that shoulder injury he suffered at the Oz longtrack and caused him to miss the NSW/Vic clash a couple of weeks back ? ? BertHoven
I didn't know they had that much rain in Australia. Maybe they will soon be having occasional showers in Sunny South California. What a stupendous export acievement for the Manchester Weather Centre. They deserve the highest accolade possible - at least the Queens Award for Industry.
Main Man
Yes Lunchy, Jay is still suffering with the shoulder and sees a specialist on Dec 8th and if the prognosis is that he needs an op then it may well be that he will retire from racing. There is tendon damage amongst other things and the shoulder keeps popping out. With a steady job Jay does not want to take the time off for an op, so packing in may be his only alternative. Lee was not down to race at Gosford last night either due to other commitments. Can't believe the thunderstorms this morning either --hope that they keep away from Adelaide next week for Parks' meeting . Watching the cricket from there I see it is dry --so fingers crossed!! There seems to be almost as many rainoffs here as anywhere else in the world...maybe its a speedway thing? I'll never complain about a rainoff again after hearing about the big sidecar meeting in Germany being cancelled....riders actually travelled from Australia just to ride in that meeting.......
