The Latvian riders didn't turn up in Finland at all for the 2nd and 3rd round, havent yet discovered why. Also dont know about the attendance and heat times for the first match in Latvia. The 2nd round in Seinäjoki attracted 67! people (paid the ticket) while the 3rd round in Pori saw around 100 sold tickets. The Pori club had done a big job and given out around 6000 free tickets around the city. Around 600 of them were received back at the turnstiles + the traffic by the track was so big that they just let the cars in. Best estimate would be around 1000 people in attendance. There was also a film crew present, and a 6 camera DVD production will be out next month. HUGE credit has to be given for the Pori club. They have worked hard along the years, when the sport has been it's lowest. Seinäjoki too, well, every club... But Pori the most! When I get the results from Pori I'll post them as well and the averages too. Edited May 25, 2006 by f-s-p

tarabanko
Pretty crap attendances there F-S-P... In the heydays of Kai Niemi, Olli Tyrväinen, Marko Kunelius, Juha Moskunen etc how was the attendance for the clubs then? Good of the Björneborg team to give out 6000 free tickets, hope at least 3-400 of them are coming back next time and pay the entrance fee. There used to be hundreds watching just the practises during the week. When they had a big international meeting, like a qualifier they had 3000-4000 people. f-s-p
Tomi Reima is apparently OK after a crash that made the Swedish press last week. As stated @ speedwayworld.tv Kylmäkorpi is out for a month with a broken collarbone. Jyri Palomäki is also out for at least 4 weeks after breaking his leg yestarday in Sweden. He broke his leg in 3 places and it's now supported with 2 plates and 10 screws. It's NOT LOOKING GOOD for the SWC. But it's good news for the brit's because we would have kicked your ASSH! He blew one engine, was involved in one all4back first corner as the one knocked off (I got excellent pics of the incident, Dave Fairbrother better clear his emailbox) and ended his day by getting thrown from his bike as it rocketed from under him exciting turn 2 while challenging Teemu Lahti for a 2nd in semi 1. He wrecked the front end of Joni Keskinen's spare bike in the incident, and boy was he high up in the air! . He's now checking in for x-rays and I'm off to sauna and a few cold ones... f-s-p
A good crown of around 300 saw the 4th round of the finnish league yesterday at Kuusankoski. Track wasn't all that great, and the racing suffered towards the end. The Swedes for the Helsinki team really stood out. They had the pro kits on display that left some gasping for breath. Not only did they look like the part, they also did their part by both riding 14 from 5. Unlike @ Tampere last night none of the racers died. At the Tampere horse track two horses collapsed and died because of heat exhaustion.
