Hi Chaps

I'm looking to book my flights for wroclaw next year the only problem is that i can't fine any flights to wroclaw airport is it to early or have they cancelled the flights to this airport.

Terry

I assume you are looking on Ryanair! If this is the case, I would say that there are no flights as yet as May is too far in advance for that destination!

rico how much did you pay last year when you stayed at the radisson i was just wondering becoz i don't fancy trekking across the city again since the novotel was miles or should km away from the stadium and the centre of the city. Did toy with going to prague this year but unfortunatly it clashes with my family holiday bugger.

Just wonderinmg how easy it is to get from the airport into wroclaw, does buses/ trains run frequently or do we need to hire a car, looking to go from east midlands to Wroclaw,

also i notice the radisson hotel has been recommended on this site, is there any other hotel which people could recommend if we cannot get into the Radisson.

also one last thing how far is the stadium away from the city centre, is it walking distance or do you need transport.

many thanks

Rita

There are normally plenty of taxis waiting outside the airport at Wroclaw. The journey from the airport to the centre of town is only 15 mins depending on the traffic. The Radisson Is by far one of the best hotels in my opinion, bieng some 10 mins walk from the centre of town & approx 30-45 mins walk from the staduim. Taxi Journey is only 10mins from the staduim.

The stadium is not within walking distance of the track.

I hope this is useful

There are no train services serving the airport at Wroclaw but there are two bus services to the city centre. An express service (number 406 ) operated by the municipal bus company runs into town every 30 minutes. There is slightly more expensive service run by a private operator but this only meets some UK flights. Both depart from just outside the terminal building but they stop at different places in the centre. If you travel on the municipal bus with a large suitcase then you must purchase two "express bus" tickets (one for the passenger and one for the suitcase). Express bus tickets are slightly more expensive than the normal bus and tram tickets and, be warned, you can be fined on the spot if you have the wrong type of ticket (or if you have not stamped your ticket using the machine onboard the bus).

As regards hotels, I can recommend either the Orbis Hotel Wroclaw or the Hotel Jana Pawla II on opposite sides of the city centre. Both are good quality hotels with very reasonable rates.

It is a long walk to the Olympic Stadium from the city centre but tram services nos. 8, 9 and 17 run along this route at very frequent intervals and the journey takes less than 15 minutes. Tickets for a single journey only cost about 2zl and can be bought at any of the Ruch kiosks all around the city.

Wroclaw is a great city for a long weekend so make the most of your visit.

Must make watching the speedway very difficult. :P:lol:
