Just been looking at an old Hackney programme from 1986 and wondered what Richard Pettman was up to these days? I saw him at Arena few years ago with Andy Galvin and Rob Tilbury. Shazzy do you know?

Spoke to Richard a month or so before for the Hackney reunion and he like so many former riders disappear from the sport. He had planned to come to the reunion but had to pull out at the last minute.

Richard has his own business in the Canterbury area. We did invite him over to the re-union at Iwade but unfortunately he never attended.

the only time i ever saw Richard Pettman was back in the spring of this year. he was on tv, BBC1 weekday morning, Under the Hammer or something like that. he'd bought a house at auction and was doing it up for renting out to students in Canterbury. quite a few puns were made at speedway's expense, like race against time and so on.
