Subedei
And what about BSI's proposed new toy? Don't be surprised to see Iversen, Protasiewicz and Zagar, together with the SWC Final, at Reading next season.

Subedei
I assume you've never been to Smallmead then Sube? Does it matter? It's going to belong to Uncle John and BSI.
rabbit
And?? If people thought Poole was bad / too small for the final then they'd have a field day at Smallmead. Now when Reading have their new super-duper stadium that's being talked about - maybe I'd agree with you.
Lanzilla
Does it matter? It's going to belong to Uncle John and BSI. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree Subedei. Gonna be at either Reading or Smallmead.
J-D
I agree Subedei. Gonna be at either Reading or Smallmead. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm, i cannot see it being Smallmead somehow, where do we start? Insufficent size pits Fence not currently set up to take an air fence No back straight stand so reduced capacity Limited first aid centre Lack of VIP area One turnstile Poor track lighting Limited Media facilities and broadband connections Dodgy electrics Poor track equipment Generally shabby surroundings. Swindon and Poole would be my choices and i know JP loved the last time Poole staged it.

KevH
I'm sure BSI won't be ploughing too much money into the current stadium, but they will have their feet well and truely under the table when they do move. Makes good business sense if you think about it.

Track lighting would have to be uprated for Sky say £5000 and Electrics rewired say £2000. This would be the bare minimum so realistically with an increase in rider costs i cannot see how it would be worth the effort. Only benefit i see in taking over now is if a certain promotor wants the new stadia built to his requirements therefore runs at Smallmead as well as helping design the new stadia. covbees7
I agree that poole provides excellent racing however if you are not in the stadium as soon as the gates open you can forget seeing any action, and as we have a six year old in tow forget it!!! My main concern is that they are holding the race off on the 20th july when the kids are still at school, our schools break up on the 21st july problems, problems, problems

tony159
Sure if Poole were to hold it they would erect extra seating on the bends like last time . Very good viewing was had from there.

(except cardiff and then only under duress) if it is at poole i will be one of the punters standing in line to get in early and hence wasting good drinking time. no offence to people who use the seats but its not for me....old habits die hard. Daniel Smith
Why do these events always have to go to EL stadiums. With all the improvements happening at King's Lynn and the best race track surface in the country it could be held there, semi's or final

I was not impressed.
tigerblues
I'm for Sheffield and Peterborough myself. Though South Coast would be nice. If Cardiff got the final, I want Newport as the race-off <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Would love it at Sheffield. That would give Machin no choice, he'd HAVE to open the back straight I don't think Cardiff should get the final, simply because it is too far for virtually everyone, apart from Newport fans. If it was at Cardiff, crowds wouldn't be nearly big enough, as it's already been said, people will choose between the World Cup and the GP. Seeing as, if possible, I'd like to get to both, it would leave many thinking if the World Cup is worth a trip down to Wales, when the GP is a month earlier. stick man
I know Coventry may have "cut their nose off to spite their face" last year with BSI, but surely Brandon has the best facilities of the lot; Centrally placed in the country. Easy access. Plenty of free parking at the stadium and facilities for overflow parking. Best viewing in the country all round the track, no need to queue for hours before hand to scramble for limited good views (as you do at Poole and Swindon). Capacity for 10,000 at least. Excellent bars, plenty of food outlets. Large enough pits with easy views for fans. VIP lounges. A good racing track when well prepared which fortunately has become more of the norm this year. Home track advantage? Scott, Lee and Chris.
