Silver Bee
should be at poole 2 absolutely quality meetings down there in 2004. Great atmosphere, good racing and good viewing. Racing at Swindon is poor, as is viewing. Would be appauled if it took place there to be honest.
masked_rooster
personally i hope brandon or sheffield gets the nod, its a fair trek for us northerners to get to swindon and poole ect even eoes is a hike. its no fun traveling back on a coach either with no wc and a skinful onboard
covbees7
Cardiff is a non starter for the final what if.....God Forbid team gb didnt make it through???? millenium stadium with maybe 2000 there doesnt bear thinking about
Subedei
Not entirely convinced that Sandhu would want it. He doesn't like playing second fiddle and I can't see him handing the keys to Brandon to BSI for a couple of meetings. Sandhu would want some measure of control himself. And I can't see him shelling out cash to BSI for the meetings unless he's pretty sure he's going to get a decent return. Anyway, Team GB should be in the race-off at least. Poland and Sweden straight to the final and then between Australia, Denmark and Team GB for the final two places.
Sandie
I know Coventry may have "cut their nose off to spite their face" last year with BSI, but surely Brandon has the best facilities of the lot; Centrally placed in the country. Easy access. Plenty of free parking at the stadium and facilities for overflow parking. Best viewing in the country all round the track, no need to queue for hours before hand to scramble for limited good views (as you do at Poole and Swindon). Capacity for 10,000 at least. Excellent bars, plenty of food outlets. Large enough pits with easy views for fans. VIP lounges. A good racing track when well prepared which fortunately has become more of the norm this year. Home track advantage? Scott, Lee and Chris. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But Steve Shovlar doesnt want it there - so it wont be!
scabby3
I think you will find that the SWC play offs & the final will be held at Reading, once the sale of the clubs goes to BSI.

Subedei
It may be a "shed", but it looks like it's going to be BSI's shed.
Jawa_Power!
I think Sheffield should get the final. If you are considering Scottish fans as well, its more of a central location. Besides, the track always produces excellent racing. It was such a shame that the previous WC event held there was ruined by the weather. If it was a dry day, I think it would have been one of the most memorable SWC meetings of all time. I know the meetings at Poole were good to watch but I think its about time somewhere else got the chance. Also, if we want any home track advantage, have it on a PL track. Team GB could practice there before the meeting but I doubt the foreigners could!
sparry9419
It was a great final at Poole in 2004 and will take some beating... however i would not hold it there again.. it was far too cramped and spoilt it somewhat.. may have to ban the deck chair brigade! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The only problem with holding the final at Poole is that weekend is the start of the holiday season and accomodation may be difficult to get hold of. shazzybird
Surely this will be the same problem wherever you go, I know someone tried to book a holiday cottage for Cardiff and it was really cheap until they realised something was on at the Stadium 15miles away and the price doubled!! FlyinRyan
Surely the SWC can only be raced on an FIM approved track? Therefore it has to be at either of the following: Poole, Eastbourne, Swindon, Peterborough or Sheffield. Not sure about Coventry, think they lost FIM status a few years ago, unless they have re-applied since the improvements have gone on - maybe a Bees fan would know? Steve Shovlar
Thought it had already been announced that the semi and final were going to Swindon?

Anyway Paul I'm surprised that you haven't started a thread on the BV Dinner Dance. I'm sure everyone would like to know the ins& outs etc - and who turned up in a limmo dressed like Hollywood Stars etc.

Mick Dundee
I'd definitely vouch for Coventry or Peterborough definitely, decent tracks which is what counts the most and more importantly not right on the south coast!
