Under 15's Koc Final

Recommended Posts

does anyone know where and when this meeting is taking place

According to article in the Star last week one of the three remaining Academy fixtures (this KOC Final, 'League' semi and then Grand Final) will be at Buxton next Sunday (after the Hitmen vs. GB U-18 match). The other two would then happen at (as yet unnamed) tracks in the final week.

Mind you, very few fixtures actually planned in that final (half-term) week, so I couldn't say where they mean by this..?

Obviously, the Grand Final is out for Buxton: the earlier round not having been ridden. I think as the U-18 match is a show-case itself for young British riders that the KOC final should by rights really also be at Hi Edge on Sunday...

Bryn - don't think James suffered any serious injuries as he remained at the meeting but didn't ride again. Sam had to go to hospital with a suspected broken ankle/leg. Vince said he would let us know how they got on.

Thanks Jayne - let's hope for some good news on Sam.

Just had a text to say they are operating on Sam tonight

Sad way to end the season but look forward to seeing you back on track next season. Fingers crossed the operation goes well.

All the best Sam for a speedy recovery

Just popped in home to drop the sponsors off. Sam is in hospital at Stockport and they are planning on operating in the morning to put some screws in a fractured tibia. We tried to bring him home and will try again tomorrow to get him back to a local hospital for the operation. Shouldn't be too bad anyway and Sam is already itching to ride again. The ambulancemen reckon he has an exceptionally high pain threshold, and seeing what he was like at the track today I can believe it.

Get well soon Sam.

Very unlucky to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, not once, but twice!

First time he and Joe Reynolds clashed.Short delay while he got up and dusted himself down. Then in the rerun,James Humby gated ahead of him,and appeared to lock up,leaving him little room to manouvre.Ending up ramming the fence on turn 2.Both incidents were 1st bend bunching.

Looking at the state of Sams bike, its no wonder he is injured.Doubt there is much left to rescue.

Having seen some photos taken by JulesM of the incident,it was a very nasty moment.

Full Scorers:

4.Brendan Johnson...1+1,3,3,=7+1

5.Ben Reade....1,1=2

4.James Sealey....0,fx,0,0=0

5.Scott Meakins....0,0,2=2

6.Richard Franklin....1,1,0=2

Strange decision from referee Tony Steele. After stopping Ht1,he then awarded the race as a dead heat.In the actual race,Lewis was wll clear when it was stopped.

Not too sure how the bonus point works for a dead heat,so I have given them both one! Help Bryn?

Bridgers winning time of 55 seconds in ht6,was in fact the fastest winning time for the whole of the 2005 season at Buxton!

To Ian,Director of the Anglo Polish Agency,Acadamy Final Sponsors,a big thank you for taking JulesM and myself up there.A very enjoyable day, tinged with regret over Sams unfortunate crash.

This was my first ever visit to the Buxton circuit, and what a throughly enjoyable and friendly experience. All tracks could learn a lot from the Moss family, who made us all very, very welcome.Thank you,and all the best for the future.

I cant believe that Sam has broken his leg he was laughing and joking in the ambulance (absolutely nothing to do with the gas and air he was knocking back Im sure!!) Unfortunately the photos didnt come out for some reason, anyway I hope he gets back on his bike soon although that looked worse than Sam. GIve him my best Vince and I will send you the photos for your website.
