Guest speedyguy
I just got news that Simon Stead is coming to Australia to race in the 4 round Australian titles in January. I'm sure Stats will follow up with more info. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tell him to take a look at some really awesome speedway - the World Sprintcar Series which run 19 meetings between December and January. And I believe the USA's 'World of Outlaws" sprint cars are also in Oz in early January, along with some top USA midget car drivers for another international series in their formula. How do bikes get a look in I wonder?
AndyM
Good luck to Steady. Always believed trips like this add to a rider's education and ability to adapt to different track conditions. Hope he gains something useful ready for next season, and preferably not a broken leg!
BertHoven
Good luck to Steady. Always believed trips like this add to a rider's education and ability to adapt to different track conditions. Hope he gains something useful ready for next season, and preferably not a broken leg! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Andy, old friend, Simon has sked me to design a new machine for him to use next season. The design is now complete and my mate Bill, an engineering genius [familiar word!], has today finished building the prototype. With a soupcon of co-operation from Outlook Express I'll mail you a pic tomorow. Being a closely guarded secret you must not mention the existence of this revolutionary bike to anyone. Above all don't post anything about it on speedway forums! Bert & Bill - Britains Brilliant Bike Boffin and Builder. BertHoven
Best wishes, Simon, for a safe, enjoyable and beneficial sojourn in the pioneer country of speedway.
whowasthatberntpersson
Simon must really love the warmth and hospitality that Australia has to offer. He's already made several visits downunder, he'll certainly add something to the Australian Final. I presume he'll be catching up with Mr Kwiksnax "Trevor Harding" who now resides on the Central Coast of NSW, so maybe looking good for a few rides at Gosford??????? So no doubt Simon will get to have a drive of one of those things with wings. I bet you he doesn't pack his dak's like i did.

lionheart
Hope Steady takes some motors with BIG hearts. He will need them on the tracks down under. I dont think there are many postage stamp size tracks in OZ. A big country in every sense of the word.

speedway_dan
Simon fly’s out nearly ever year as a holiday come pre-season exercise and this gives him the chance to catch up with many of his pals down under (Lee Redmond Included). As mentioned Simon will be taking place in the aussie champ's this season and with the possibility of some of the roo big boys taking place it should be a great warm up for the 2006 European season!
