Lezaw
But we still don't know nothing about that Ukrainian youngster Karpow. First rumours were that he has broken backbone. Does anyone knows something?
Lezaw
According to the information given on one of the Polish speedway sites, Sergei's condition is stable. Although Darkin recovered his consciousness on monday for a while, doctors are keeping him in a (as they call it) state of "artificial coma". It's all because doctors want to avoid (once again I try to follow them) "pain shock". As far as I'm concerned, coma is the best way to natural and fast recovery, after that kind of injuries. I'm crossing my fingers, hoping that everything is going to be good...

Lezaw
Here's some other information I've found on the web, and those are especially believed to be true. Although Sergei is breathing by himself since monday, he's put on the respirator. Initial examine didn't bore the possibility of brain and spinal cord damages, but doctors still cannot carry out all (precise) examines in view of Sergei's overall condition. In the nearest future Sergei awaits a brain bruise surgery and some lung ops (first precise sifting is necessary). Probably Darkin has also broken 8 ribs, and broken pelvis. In spite of all those horrified facts, it is outstandingly consolting that there is no need to be worried about Sergei's life at present moment! tommy
both heats look horrible, these type of events just beg for an air fence.
Cliv Clav
Ronnie Russell said at Arena on Wednesday; Sergey has broken 8 ribs, punctured both lungs, broken his hip and has internal bleeding. He was being taken down for an emergency operation yesterday (Thursday) according to Arena's website (www.arenaessex-speedway.co.uk). He was still fully sedated. Fingers crossed for you Sergey, get well soon mate. Edited September 23, 2005 by Cliv Clav

Ruby Tuesday
Now I have seen the crashes I can understand how they have all had such awful injuries.
Papa Bazarou
The heat 2 crash was awful, the pace at which they went in was incredible. You can see Sergei pulling the cut out away in a vain attempt to scrub speed and leaning away knowing it was going to be a hard impact. 5 riders per heat, perhaps a contributing factor ? all pushing hard for that spot . . and the fence, just no give at all in it. Scary stuff. Heres hoping Sergei pulls through in time, very nasty indeed.

Scary stuff. I thought it might've been when I first heard about the crash. But, in fairness, they're all pretty spread out. It's just the guy in red loses it and ploughs into and through everyone else. A very nasty accident. And that fence certainly looks built to last. Think it'd have survived Hurricane Katrina. Perhaps just trying too hard to get under blue and that advantage ? A first bend incident that we've seen before and will see again, but with 5 men and machines in the turn at once more of chance to get hooked up. Brings it home what a dangerous sport this is. Subedei
And on those big old tracks out East, they aren't half going fast when they hit the first bend. Looks to me like he tries to turn, but his back wheel bounces off the guy in blue's bike and he loses it.
